What's the big deal with mature content? [Possibly spoilers]
So, here I might come off as paranoid, but I'm actually trying to understand the fanbase. The Reddit community seemed pretty nice at first, until I posted this. As you can see, the voting count is pretty low and the user I replied to as of the moment I'm publishing this didn't seem pleased at all. So my question is, what's the big deal with identifying mature content in the game? I mean, Sebastian smokes, Haley is a bully, Lewis doesn't know where he leaves his underwear and the player is the only one to blame for seeing and understanding these things? Considering it's heavily inspired by Harvest Moon, I don't understand what's the big deal sinde Nintendo itself is heavy on subliminar messages in this fashion.

For the record, I'm not criticizing the game, not even sure if I'm criticizing the fanbase on Reddit. Mostly, I want to understand the fanbase and decide whether I want to be an active member or just access forums when strictly necessary.

EDIT: I've deleted the post on the link I provide up above. You'll probalby see nothing if you access that, so just move along, folks. Nothing to see here. Joja appreciates your concern!

It isn't the identifying of the mature content, its the fact that kind of screenshot has been posted several times already with the cucumber.

The first one I saw got decent karma.

Every game fanbase is the same. Just move along.
Ha that was great!

You post on Reddit at your own risk.

you did the first mistake by going to leddit
"seemed pretty nice at first"... Uhhh... huh. No one is ever nice for too long.

So they go down on the new guy just bc it's been posted before? Gee... Considering how fast people post there, is not like I'd know that easily.

Not the point.

People do that with every game, on every forum. Because people are jerks. You won't believe how many times I already received hatred for an innocent question/attempt to start a discussion because it had been posted 10 months ago on one of the 200 forum pages already.

Well speaking as someone who's answered the same questions a few dozen times each for years, it gets annoying to see it after awhile. Especially those jerks who can't be bothered to read the title of the newest thread before clicking the new topic button with the same question.

I don't think I understand your angle, OP.

you want to identify mature content.

Why?

Do you want more of it? Less? Or do you just want to say "heh he smokes. Kids don't do that."

It's more the repetition than the 'implied mature content'

She just wants the thing cause it is purple, though. It is a SEA cucumber.

I do agree that sometimes multiple questions can be a bit annoying (yesterday I saw literally 6 threads asking about same sex marriage, 2 of them on the first forum page), but some things can't be found so easily via search bar, and still people react aggressively instead of just being helpful (in most cases hyperactive fans who thought a person attacked the game, although he didn't...).

Eeh, I haven't seen this kind of behavior with every game, not at all. I used to access /r/FinalFantasy and downvotes there were for an entirely different reason (mostly people trying to clean up the front page from things they deemed not worthy). On the subs I posted questions before (notably /r/pso2, /r/animalcrossing and /r/dwarffortress) people were very nice and neither upvoted or downvoted. In fact, this is the first time people don't just ignore this kind of post from me in the year I've been on Reddit.

None xD I'm making a question about the fanbase.

I feel you. There was a time in /r/PSO2 when a lot of people would make the same questions over and over again. There, however, the downvote count was fair (from 50% to 40% at most). People just replied to what they were asking, no probs. I did get tired of the same thing over and over again, but instead of being a jerk (which I always try to avoid), I messaged the mods to make a PSA regarding that specific question (it's the top stickied if anyone cares to have a look). Also saw questions being asked multiple times (not at the same time, but with a few days gap) on other subs and people were quite nice, neither upvoting or downvoting. This is the first time on Reddit I see this happening and it makes me kinda sad that it's on the SDV sub.
It's not very complex so pretty easy to understand. Tolerances vary.
