Giving gifts to other people after married

My wife got kinda pissy with me for giving gifts to other NPCs. Is there an actual in-game penalty for this? I want to get the achievement for maxing out everyone's hearts (JUST AS FRIENDS), but I don't want my wife to nag me about it all the time. =\

but if your wife dont help and spend time in the town than its just a hindrance

even spirits in the comunity center are more help than this living being bodies in the town

Once you get the stardrop from your spouse, you can ignore them without worrying about missing anything. Leah dropped 2 hearts in one day when I bought a round of beers for the saloon. I also gave her a leftover beer ar 11-12pm, and she had a hangover the next day...Probably doesn't help that I give her an entire bottle of wine every day.

But yeah, get the stardrop and then you can ignore your wife and work on getting hearts with other people.

I'm married to Sam, BUT, I had one of the events with Sabation with him at 10 hearts, and he took me riding on his motorcycle to look at the city lights. He was at the wedding for goodness sakes, and, HE KISSED me! I feel terrible (kinda). I went home and Sam was normal. Thanked me for working so hard on the farm and all. I gave him pizza the next day and same thing, he was fine. They are best friends. What was he thinking!

Its only happends when you gift someone thats maked single everyone else is ok to give gifts too.

Just for the record, one of the things the wiki lists as a result of luck is that high luck makes it less likely for your spouse to get angry at you giving gifts to "singles".

Try holding off until you have a lucky day, and only gift-giving when you have "loved" gifts, or just stick to talking, which ultimately gets you more friendship points than anything but "loved" gifts get you per week, and will gradually grind up to cap, anyway.

I married Harvey and was very happy with him at the beginning (gifts + watering crops when I hadn't automated anything yet). Lately he's become kinda strange - gets angry at me everyday even though I gift him wine about 5 days a week. I started to suspect he gets jealous because I'm talking to the bachelors cause I stopped gifting them once he started ratting me out.

I don't know if this was coincidence or a bug, but once I got home at ~8 in the evening (after I talked to almost everyone in town, including bachelors) and he was right behind the door, making me 'spawn' a little further up. He complained about me not doing any housework and effectively blocked the door, keeping me from doing anything on the farm until I was frustrated and went to bed. So yeah, I don't think ignoring them is advisable...

Elliot got pissy with me once. Then I found that if I give him a gift as soon as I get back from giving others gifts, he doesn't say anything. So, just give your spouse a gift before you talk with them and they are happy.

I'm just going to try and max the hearts for those who are "single" before I marry Sebastian then. Sebastian is already at 8 hearts, so once I get the rest to 8 hearts I'll probably give him the bouquet. It's a lot easier than having to deal with a spouse who's getting jealous over you trying to make (best) friends, as long as I don't give them the bouquet they should be happy, right?

Yes, you should be able to date everyone without anyone getting jealous (even though I imagine this will be patched out someday). I've been dating two people in my newer game without any problems. If you want to get 10 hearts with EVERYONE you will need to give them the bouquet, though. Still, there should be no problem.

Someone already test about jealous wife. It seems it can be triggered even on neutral gift, seems like a gift rank is not a factor. It's completely depends on gifting, regardless quality and preferences of recipient

Seems weird, since I didn't gift anybody and once morning, Maru was just really pissed with me. Other theories seem to refer to how your house is set up, which is also weird since I haven't changed a thing and she seemed fine, until now.
