Wish there was a better way to harvest the crops

The classic method of picking out the harvest one by one was fine at the start but i am in 3rd year and have a greenhouse full of hops + ancient , i want to grow more crops outside but just harvesting whats grown in the greenhouse alone is long + animal caring.

What do you think can be added as a equipment to make the harvest faster ? i remember harvest moon on the gba allowed you to put the harvest on the horse to make it faster. or maybe even a cool skill

I dont know much about how the harvesting is done faster in the real world ? some kinda tractors ?

A good way in the game would be to hire a person to collect done crops in the morning. Like give Linus a job. The vagrant.

You know you can just hold the mouse button (or whatever) down and run down a whole row of crops, right? Or is that insufficiently quick?

The one warning I'll give is this:

If there's nothing in your hand, hold down LMB.
If there's something in your hand, hold down RMB.
Unless that something is a food. Then hold down LMB.

What I usually do is I'll equip a tool that doesn't have an RMB function (i.e. not a weapon), then just hold down RMB and go bananas running and dragging my mouse all over. I can knock out several hundred plots pretty quickly.

Also, if you are going to replant, have the seed selected then run grabbing your crop, harvest/replanting in one swoop.

If you are worried that you might accidentally hit over a crop with the axe or the pickaxe, or consume some random item, then you can simply hold stone or wood in your 1st slot, and then run down the lane holding RMB/LMB whatever to grab the crops faster.
Also, you can grab 8 crops from the tiles adjacent to where you are standing. Kind of like the pattern you get when you put down the Level 2 sprinkler.

The best way honestly is just use any non-consumable item/tool that doesn't have any negative/unwanted effects and run down entire lane of crops while holding LMB.

Also this could be totally random, but in my experience whenever I've had an axe in my hand and held down LMB, the harvesting seemed to be faster.

But a new upgrade or something that allows mass harvesting/planting would totally be nice.

From further posts in the thread I'm gathering that you didn't know about the hold-mouse-button-down trick. You turn into a crop harvesting bulldozer.

At that point, it's like you're mowing the grass. Anyone that's literally picking each crop up one-by-one is doing themselves a disservice.

Hahaha that did happen i was so eager to test it out , i ran off forgetting that i had the pickaxe equipped it wasn't pretty :D had to restart the day , I am holding the stone now and the harvesting is super quick.

Stone, Wood, Hardwood, Gems, basically anything that can't be consumed or used is the best bet to hold and run around. Axes and pickaxes are a bit dodgy, but if you hold LMB with them then you should be fine.
