Upgrading to Iridium

so I finally got 5 bars of iridium and all my current tools are golden. what tools did y'all upgrade to iridium first? i haven't heavily invested into any one pursuit, so i'm trying to figure out what to spend my bars on :/

I upgraded my Hoe. Being able to bang out those fields in a hurry is sooo nice.

Or it will be, once it stops being Winter.

Since I've encountered exactly one iridium ore vein, ever, and get almost all my iridium by killing purple slimes, upgrading the pickaxe wouldn't have done much for me. =P

Honestly, I spent my first 8 or 9 bars on sprinklers. None of the other ugprades really felt useful to me at the point in the game where I could get my hands on Iridium consistently.

I crafted the iridium band first. Then I think it was the pickaxe for mining, then the hoe, then the watering can and finally the axe last. I bought iridium sprinklers from Krobus over 2 months, and eventually crafted a few more, but that was much later in the game.

I went with pickaxe first to get through skull cavern levels quicker. After the pickaxe, I spent a few bars on sprinklers. But as Landwalker04 said in his post, I got most of my iridium from killing slimes, so really you can go whatever makes your life easier at that point in time.

Technically fishing rod XD But with iridium bars, the pickaxe. Oddly my second choice was axe.

Hoe or pickaxe, either is good. Really depends on what your main income of money is.
Iridium Pickaxe is a must in skull cavern, if you are not doing skull cavern you could go hoe first.

I did pickaxe for mining. Being able to 1-hit the rocks in the skull caves makes it go alot faster.

i chose pickaxe since i'd like to get iridium a bit faster (and i also didn't have enough solar essence for the band) thanks for the help!

Watering Can -> Pickaxe -> Hoe -> Axe

I try to keep the pick the can and the hoe all at the same stage (copper, steel etc) until they're all gold, then I go for steel axe, then iridium all in the same priority.
