crab pots
I want to add I love fishing on this game. I went with trapper skill and later Luremaster. As I figured once I got further in to the game I would have less time to fish. and it is nice to just have my own ponds laden with pots... I just really wish crab pots where similar to other items you can place down, in that I keep accidently picking up my crab pots. While not major, it is annoying. It would be good if they took a couple clicks to pick up the pot. Unless I missed some easier way to pick up the loot in the pots (which I hope) it is my only compaint.

But yeah, all the free extra trash is nice xD who is up for some fresh water snail sushi?

Try holding an item other than a tool while interacting with it. I took the mariner skill (accidently) so I have to bait the pots every morning. While holding the bait it only rebaits the traps and doesn't pick it up.

I just tried with holding a non tool item, it still rapidly picks them up sadly, even while holding bait. (before I got luremaster this was not an issue) But oh well.It is not major, just means I need to aim my mouse a little better.
Then try clicking once only. That's all I can reccomend

yeah thats all ya can do, you can't hold the button down, and you need to spread the pots out just a little more to avoid constantly picking the pot up.

Mine are all close to each others. You just need to be close to them when you interact with them and also click once and there shouldn't be any issues. Going too fast leads to bad stuff.

Clear them 3 tile at a time with one click each. Like, if they're arranged North to South:

X
X O
X

stand at O and click the South one, the middle one and then the North one. Then move North 3 tiles and repeat. It's a little annoying that you can't use the hold-the-mouse-button method but if you're careful you won't pick up any of the crab pots. You can use the hold-the-mouse-button method to bait them, however.

Sorry to necro this but this is still a problem, I don't understand why BOTH left and right click needs to be able to pick them up, why not just left click to pick up and right click to loot and place bait? This is beyond irritating between baiting and looting enough for me to stop being a trapper, no other profession has an irritating waste of time like this.

When you're dealing with diagnal water (like the pond) and cannot really tell how close you are to crab pots or how many you can click on from that angle. The image of loot above crab pots gets in the way to tell where to click the next one, so you're always guessing where to click.

Nothing is worse than having to open the inventory and move things around then find the square (that doesn't match placement) to put the crabpot back into the water when you're in a hurry, especially since you cannot pause during coop. Please for the love of Stardrops... fix this problem... :steambored::steamfacepalm::steamsalty:

Just hold a single piece of bait over your head and it won't pick them up. Just run down the line of pots and you'll refill them without consuming the bait.

That doesn't actually fix the problem... and also doesn't make sense.

Is trash really that worth? I choose Mariner and never regreted it, I always carry my fishing rod so i always have baith on me, and never had a problem filling them at the same time I'm harvesting all my trash free traps.

Uh... It's a workaround. You just need a single piece of bait and you shouldn't pick up the crab pots. It's not "exactly" a solution, but having 1 piece of bait isn't that big a deal.

Trash can be put in the recyler for items. So early on it can be really useful for gaining items, plus unlike fishing you drop the crab pot, and walk away.

Damn this post is old, it almost makes me want to play stardew valley again.

Just a simple question, why do you emphasize on "one" piece of bait three times when it uses a bait for each crab pot? That's why I said, "...and also doesn't make sense." then you went on to emphasize on "a single bait" two more times after that.
