Biggest Mistake.
What is the biggest mistake you have ever made in the game? Mine would probably be either the time when I accidentaly bought 27 corn seeds instead of 27 pumpkin seeds or the many times I have died in the mines/stayed up past 2:00 PM and not reset.:steamfacepalm:

Random fruits, mainly those not found on trees but occasionally those as well. My regret is that fruits are easily obtainable from planting them, mushrooms are not, and now that I am trying to hit the 'ship 15 of everything' achievement I am at the mercy of luck as to whether I get the mushrooms I need in the Secret Wood, or must wait another year to try for the rest.

edit: I've since learnt that mushrooms do not count as a 'crop' and are not needed to complete that achievement :)

If you let Demetrius put fruit bats into the cave they will randomly drop fruit in there for you to pick up. The fruit are the same ones you get from the fruit trees you can buy from Pierre's shop.

The only real advantage of the fruit bat upgrade for the cave is that you will be able to fill the artisan bundle relatively easy without having to plant all of the trees or keep a lot of different animals.

The mushroom farm is just an overall superior choice.

My personal biggest mistakes would be:

1. Choosing the trapper profession instead of the fisher perk. I regretted it pretty much instantly after I clicked the button.

2. Went to the adventurer's guild for the first time and talked to both Marlon and Gil. While talking with Gil I discovered I had already fulfilled the requirements to get the Insect Head weapon for free. Unfortunately my inventory was full at that point with stuff I wanted to keep/sell. So I closed the conversation, sold something, went back only to discover the weapon was lost now. I had to pick it up the first time when I talked to him. so I was forced to buy a weapon from Marlon instead.

3. Bought strawberry seeds at the day of the Egg Festival in my first spring. Didn't really think it through and just planted them right away instead of saving them for next spring.

Biggest? Uhhhh, Idk. Maybe accidentally giving my husband a rug as a gift. ;_; Or buying too many starfruits from Sandy and almost going broke because I wasn't paying attention.

My biggest mess-up was probably forgetting the Mayor's birthday.

For me it would be when I was replacing the path around my crops. I miss clicked and killed one of my first Sweet Gem Berry crops that was two days away from harvest.

Mine would probably be dying in the mines, encountering several bugs, accidentally giving Sebastian and Willy a bait since they stand very close to my crab pots and forgetting to close the door of several barns before my bedtime to avoid those crazy livestocks running around and making it hard to collect milks, wools, etc.
ghostquasar May 20, 2016 @ 3:13pm
Dying in the mines twice, and not looking up what people's likes/loves are immediately, only finding out about having to close the barn/coop doors in my second year...
And probably also tons of other stuff I don't remember haha

I constantly give algae to the person standing next to me trying to eat it to gain a small amount of energy. Some other times I screw up and sow seeds before I put fertilizers in.

I'm newb so worst for me was totally miscalculating the days left in Spring and losing an entire crop of kale and potatoes when the first day of Summer came two days before I expected it to. That one instigated a rage-quit followed by a New Game.

Putting my first prismatic stone in the archeology office in stead of using it for the secret. That sucked once I realized.

Wait I have a new one, I just need either pumpkins or corn for my last all-star bundle. I forgot you can plant corn in the summer. :steamfacepalm:
