Is fertilizer worth buying?

My question is simple: Is it worth buying fertilizer/HQ fertilizer? Which crops is it worth doing for? Does HQ or regular make more profit?

My question is whether or not it makes profit, compared to the price of the fertilizer. (if the average increase in value per tile/crop is greater than the 150g it costs to buy one tile worth of fertilizer.)

yes, hq most certainly will make a huge proffit (don't even bother with regular), for best effect, use with corn planted on summer 1, you will make easily more than two times what you payed for, including the fertilizer. Remember, the more you harvest, the more you will gain.

I do. I used HQ fertilizer for my first 20 ancient fruits, but I noticed that it runs out after 2-3 seasons.

Don't buy fertilizer, Make it with two saps, or make HQ fertilizer with sap and fish. it's MUCH cheaper.

Fertilizers only affect the first harvest. Corn is a high profit item since it grows for two seasons but it's a low paying item so you're only getting the HQ value from that first low income harvest. HQ fertilizers are best for your highest paying crops, even if you can only harvest them once: cauliflower, starfruit, melon, cabbage, pumpkin, etc. I'm not sure how it affects giant crops, though.

If you're crafting regular fertiliser from sap because you can't get HQ fertiliser yet, that's probably worth it, unless you know you're going to be kegging or preserving a specific crop. (in which case, quick grow ftw?)

the HQ fertilizer on my ancient fruit lasted 3 seasons and 8-ish harvests.

This. There is no reason to ever skip using normal fertilizer.

you can't buy sap and fish. My question is if it's worth it in the situation that you have no sap left and can't (for whatever reason) chop down trees to get more.
