Found The Most 10/10 Way To Get Hay
So, many people may already know this, but you can take as much hay out of your silo from the barn/coop hay thing as you like. So, before getting any animals, if you have some already you can sell them, plant a bunch of grass starters and let them grow for about 2-3 seasons. Spread them throughout you farm to grow the most possible. Then when you are thinking about buying animals, cut it until your silo is full, then, go and take the hay out of the basket thing until your silo is empty, then put that in a chest. Then continue harvesting your grass until it's nearly all gone (leave a few patches so it can regrow), this way you can get the most amount of hay possible. Once this is done, buy all the animals you like, and never worry about hay again! You will have a gigantic stockpile of it, and by the time it runs out, there will be enough grass to make a giant stockpile again! So rinse and repeat (don't sell your animals this time though!). Also fence in your animals so they don't eat your grass that you're trying to get to grow, and just let the grass grow wild, it grows faster that way (imo). The main reason I made this was because I had heaps of trouble with hay in the first year, hope this helps!

Once you graduate to the Deluxe Barn/Coop you can no longer do this as the autofeeder doesn't allow you to manually remove hay.

Easiest way, since money is no thing in this game. especially after a year or so: Buy hay from Marnie.

This is a good tip. I'm in year 6 and still playing catchup. I have enough hay for awhile, then I let them out, they eat all the grass (but not their hay bins) and somehow I never have enough. I think I'll try leaving them in and letting my grass just grow up everywhere and see if that helps me catch up. I had to buy only a few days worth at the end of winter my first year of having animals. But the second year I had more animals and halfway through the winter the silos were empty (good thing I was in the money by then!)

I just plant grass starters sporatically in an empty lot of my farm. Each piece of grass has a chance to spread overnight. Once each piece turns into a small patch of grass, *lightly* use your scythe on it. Chop it up a bit but don't cut it all down. Now you've got a bunch of mini patches that will keep growing. Let it grow out again and half chop it up again. Keep repeating this and you can farm hay from a few small patches of grass without replanting. You only really need hay for Winter as long as you keep your animals penned in a grassy area (not the grass you're farming) so it's not difficult to keep your silos full.

You can put lightning rods on grass to prevent animals from eating it

Yeah, that's when Marnie decides to ACTUALLY BE HOME! She makes me so angry when half the time she isn't there during business hours!

She and Robin both. They go to aerobics on Tuesdays. Clint disappears at times too, but I haven't figured out where he goes off to. Probably to go play with the furnace at the community center. Do it after work, dude!

Yeah, Friday Clint goes to the Community Centre. Very annoying.

im on year 5, and am always about to run out of hay, since i my animals eat around 60 pieces of hay a day, so even with my silos full (about 950) im still running out alot lol
I also wanna get more animals to fill up me coops/barn, and already make around 50-80k on animals produce a day, which balances out the price of marnies hay, but would still like to not spend around 15k on hay that last like 3 days
(I'm probably gonna use this during winter on ginger island along with planting a ton of wheat in my greenhouse.)
