What the hell, Dandelions

I saw two or three dandelions in the first couple days of spring in my new game but now that I need them for various people who are asking for them and the community center bundle, I can't find any anywhere. Like, for real, I've been hardcore looking all over the valley for over a full game week, two "I need this for reasons" quests for people in town have timed out because I couldn't find a single dandelion in the entire valley. Is there a trick to finding them? Do they only spawn after rain or something like that, because it hasn't rained since the second or third day of the game.

[Season] Seeds will produce random forage items. If you have some Spring Seeds, plant them. Other than that, there's really no trick. It's just random, though it does seem like one forage item per season is rare. I remember having trouble getting Crystal Fruit during Winter to produce Winter Seeds during my first year.

The TV once said that experienced foragers will clear forage areas of debris for better foraging but I've never noticed a change between an area that hasn't been cleared and one that has.

Yeah I haven't noticed any difference when clearing brush and such, either. But I did manage to find a single dandelion, which by that point I had no "I need a dandelion" quests so I just used it for the community center and got the 30 spring forage seeds, which I promptly planted. Will hold onto what grows in case people want stuff. It's just really weird. It took till day 14 for me to find a dandelion. I saw a couple or so in the first 2 or 3 days of the season then afer that, nothing for over 10 days.
