What is the best Fishing Tackle? (To make fishing easier, hopefully)

I'm sure I'm not the only one struggling with the fishing mechanics in this game. My fishing skill is already at 10, but there are just those fishes that are so impossible to catch. I'm trying to complete all the fish sets to get the achievement, but it's just hard. :| So what helped you with fishing the difficult ones? Does tackles really help?

Trap Bobber, by far. But if you're going for those "impossible-to-catch" fish (I'm still looking at you, Octopus!!), you'll want a meal that gives a bonus to fishing.

The trap bobber is the most useful, and as mentioned a dish o' the sea to buff your fishing skill to 13 and make the bar larger helps as well, but neither one is really a substitute for practice.

Ooh! I didn't know the dish would help that much.
But I know what you mean about the practice, it takes some time to get the patterns.

For catching legendaries, you want the trap bobber, but for general use, if I can afford it (or have one from a fishing treasure), I go for a dressed spinner. Time is by far your most precious resource in this game, and dressed spinners with bait can make fish hit as fast as you can cast your line sometimes. During the actual act of fighting with the fish, time stops, so it's in some ways better to lose a few fish but have a higher rate of landing bites.

I figured it was the trap bobber, but the game likes to shove it in my face, and whenever I use it I only get algae. Only got one chance ever to use it on a fish after weeks of trying.

If you are looking for rare fish, use trap bobber. If you are fishing casually, use treasure bobber

I for one prefer the cork bobber over the trap bobber. It personally makes fishing easier for me, and I think that they are cheaper to buy then the trap bobber.

I like how i accidentally revived a post from 2 years ago by trying to find best bobber, which is what i thought, and complaining the code is out to get me for using it.
