Fish, is it possible ...
To get all the fish for the bundles from the lady in the pig cart by the wizard house? I see she sells them occasionally, and I am not a good Fisher.

As your fisher skill goes up, the fish "jump" less on the bar. All fish, to my knowledge, give the same EXP, and you get fishing EXP even using the crab pot, so get some crab pots, and put those out. 10 pots are 10 "fish" per day for experience purposes. Eventually, you'll level up your fishing.

Also, many of the fish in the bundles aren't hard to catch if you get to the right places or fish at the right times. Woodskip is fairly easy, you just need to get to the secret woods.

If all else fails, though, there are mods to make fishing easier or completely automatic: http://community.playstarbound.com/threads/smapi-0-39-7-zoryns-mods-too-many-to-list.108756/

don't forget if you get a new fishing rod your bar actually gets bigger

yes the traveling merchant may sell everything that is in a bundle, and more. It is quite random to an extent what that person sells. Which means as someone pointed out, would take a long time to complete. At least the game is endless so you can take your time on it.

I used that method myself so far and gotten quite a chunk of them settled that way. Still working on it, but is doable that way.

I don't mind the mechanic, I just don't like to fish. So for me that long route in filling the bundles seems best for myself. It is all up to you how long you are willing to take with the bundles. :)

So...

...it's the size of the rod....

...and the skills.

Ok, I'll keep at it. I still only have the bambo pole that Willie sells. I need to stop watching those minutes tick away while I'm trying.

Yes, I noticed it when I started a new char that fishing suddenly got hard again with a lvl 1 skill. As your skill goes up, your bar increases. So buy trout soup from Willy to give yourself a boost when fishing until you can cook better dishes that give fishing a larger boost.

At low levels, stick to carp from the secret woods, the pond south of your farm or the lake in the mountains. If this is still too hard, scour the beach for shellfish (repair the plank bridge to the right of the beach), and gather the shellfish there as well and you should be able to finish off the shellfish bundle in the community centre. That nets you a free crab pot. Else you need to raise fishing to lvl 3 (I think) before crab pots become available.

Crab pots only give 5 xp per catch, while fish give 13+ xp per catch. Check the wiki for details, crab pots are a lot slower at raising fishing skill, but you don't have to play the mini-game. You can place crab pots in the ponds inside your farm and get freshwater shellfish, so quick easy access. Just don't bother using a rod in these ponds on your farm.

Fishing is a game of patience. Fortunately - the more practice you get, the faster it goes. Also, look for ripples in the water...

Quotes are there for a reason.

To be sarcastic at the OP.
Or not sarcastic, either way.

I know I can use wiki and I do, believe it or not. It is all the other helpful things you learn from making a topic in this discussion that helps. Respectfully, I'm not an idiot, I'm not stupid, and I am not afraid to do research to find out things. I come here to get opinions and different points of view. I'm sorry if I offended anyone by posting here.

You should focus on fishing yourself, but check the cart for freebies (in terms of free work, not free cost). It should be used to help bundles, but the main work falls to you.

Yes, I understand that I need to do the work, and I will focus on fishing more. Thank you.
