The Bachelor Dilemma.

As a female player of this game, I love it. I love the ability to play either sex and to have the option of courting whomever I would like. However, can we talk about the lack of charming personalities in the males in contrast to the females? I find that the female candidates for marriage are charming and full of personality with interesting back stories and have genuinely pleasing conversations, other than Haley. The males, however, seem to be stereotypical. Douchey, jocks, dumb, whiney and pretencious. After my first run of the game I have every intention of abandoning my love for males and being the the girl to rescue Penny on a white horse. But my first time round, I wanted to play towards my own preferred sex, which is male. But the love I first thought I had for Harvey is dwindling as he just whines and whines and whines. Alex is next because he does have an interesting backstory, but he seems as vain and shallow as Haley, his OTP in my opinion. I want males with more wit and charm like Leah. More genuine nice attitude like Penny. I wish I was as excited to charm the pants off of the guys as I was the females. I just feel this is lacking.

This whole debacle is making me appreciate getting Shane's heart event accidentally before any of the bachelors/bachelorettes.

I got the same impression on Sam and the war themes already though; he talks about the enemy nation being ruthless as a topic starter at the beach. Good conversationalist, that one.

This original post wasn't intended to deflect the fact that every character is a huge stereotype, I just felt that the bachelorette's had a bit more depth to them compared to the other stereotypes. That being said, I agree that Maru is a huge stereotype. I sort of forget she exists to be honest because I'm just bored of her.

ALSO I AGREE ABOUT HARVEY. I saw all of his original artworks and I liked him so much better in the earlier designs. But oh well. Thanks for participating in the discussion! You brought a lot of interesting notions to the table.

I am trying to make Jodi or Robin fall in love with me for these same reasons. Ik I cant but most the girls are ♥♥♥♥ in this game. I tried Haley of course for obvious reasons (boobs) but I could not stand the ♥♥♥♥♥ lol Now it is between Leah and Abigail and I am leaning towards Leah. Not a fan of Maru and with Penny I feel like I would end up in the bar every night, she is sweet tho but thats the problem she is too sweet and too good.

In the end every character in this game is a walking stereotype.

Can I be gay or what is up with that? Is everybody in this town bisexual?

Thanks to portrait mods they at least look hawter.. X,DDD but yes, the personalities are meh.. Even though Ive read, that some bachdelorettes turn out to be pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and jealous after the wedding lol...After the portrait mods I found Sebby and Sam cute and I married Sebby now. His later heart events were rather cute and he's a great caring hubby so far. (No jealous problems either, even though I keep gifting other Bachelor/ettes for archivements :O)

I'm not interested in wooing any males but one thing I hate about talking to some of them is how you can't even talk to them sometimes, especially Sam. "Sam is practicing his guitar", "Sam is trying to do a kickflip", "Shane is busy working", etc. That's a nice bit of exposition but there should be some dialog, too. I didn't go out of my way to hang out with someone for them to just ignore me and since you tend to catch people at the same point in their daily routine you end up seeing that non-conversation over and over. Even if you see someone at work they'll still be allowed to say "hello" for a second. It's a shame because after talking to Sam for a bit, he seems pretty chill. Asking for advice on his band and whatnot.

Just like in Mass Effect. You don't have to f**k anyone of them, you can just be a nice guy or gal that runs a farm and is nice to everyone around in town while living alone. Go MGTOW or FGTOW. As a male I really do not find any of the females really interesting as well and even less the males, I only pick someone of them because its a game mechanic.

I originally would of gone for Harvey if it weren't for that mustache... it just set me off. I never intended to go for Sebastian, then his first heart event happened by accident and I talked to him more and realized how much I like him.

I have been playing this at a friends for several days now. I have been very disappointed in the males currently... All seem to be, or self centered like a black star, dumb or a huge ♥♥♥♥. I wish there was a long haired guy with a beard that is just a big teddy bear kind of type. Or at least one that doesn't look like my grampa and is actually kind. If they make Linus a choice, I would probably go for him, even tho he is a old hobo, he is kind and loves nature! Even the Wizard would be a better choice atm. than any of the available Barchelors. =/

I have kinda read everything now from the thread. I feel a bit bad for slapping this thread back up. x.x If it makes you feel any better. I agree with you that ALL the character are kinda hollow and stereothypical. I think that is what ticks me off in this game, and not make me really care for befriending them. The females just seem to be over more kind and easier to engage with than the males. :'D
