How do I craft a furnace....so confused
I already have 20 copper ore plus the quest forging ahead. So how do I actually craft the damn thing. I've been everywhere and I've explored the past 5 levels of the cave as well. Is there some kind of bug. When I visit the blacksmit there is no option for me to craft a furnace.

Have you slept since your first trip to the mines? Clint will show up the morning after your first trip into the mines with the blueprints.

I first visited the mines days ago and Clint did visited me. I have 20 copper ore and have no idea what to do next in order to craft the furnace.

Open your inventory and click on the hammer icon to open the crafting menu, or if you play with a controller press Triangle/Y to go directly to the crafting menu, look for the furnace and hover over it to see what you need to craft it, if you have the items in your inventory then click on it to do so.

Oh I feel so stupid for missing that.......lol Its the simple things sometimes. I'll check it out and see if it works. Thanks

You craft from the standard menu.

In the menu, click the tab with the hammer on it. This is the crafting menu. If you have 20 copper ore and 25 stone in your inventory, you can craft a furnace straight from your pockets.

You can throw down the furnace anywhere outside within a range of 1 tile from yourself. To feed the furnace, you need to be holding a stack of at least 5 of an ore while at least 1 coal is in your inventory, and right-click the furnace while standing next to it. I put my first one near my shipping bin because copper smelts fast enough that I can smelt more than one copper bar while doing the daily watering.

I don't know if this was supid or not, but I placed the furnace inside my home lol. I can't believe that after 16 or 17 days I never noticed the crafting menu. I almost want to start over now, but maybe not.

Unless it's smelting something right now, you can just move your furnace by hitting it with your pickaxe to pick it back up. (This works for nearly all furniture or crafting stations. Things like tappers on trees get knocked off by the axe, though.) Rearrange your crafters however you see fit.

And there's no real reason to restart. It's not a game where you can really lose much forever, and certainly not in the first season. There isn't even that much worth crafting besides field snacks for extra energy that early on. At that point in the game, focus upon gaining skills you need to gain crafting recipes through lots of clear-cutting your farm's trees and rock smashing, as well as growing tons of parsnips you can palm off on villagers as gifts. (Just about everyone likes parsnips...)

If you didn't know about the crafting menu, what did you do for the early quest that required you to build a scarecrow? O.o

To be fair, I didn't get around to that quest until Spring of year 2, mostly because I didn't touch farming at all in year 1, so I just ignored any quests that weren't mining, fishing, or foraging related.

I was too busy getting the infrastructure for farming ready, getting my hoe and watering can upgraded to gold, getting plenty of cash for deluxe fertilizer and seeds to complete the bundles and unlock the greenhouse.
