Is there a fast way to level up mining.
Im lvl 3 now and i am mining day in day out but my mining lvl just wont level up to 4.
Is there any tip for fast mining?
And does forging lvl up your mining skill?

Mining skill increases as you break rocks - any rocks. So if you go into the mines and focus on breaking ore deposits and going down levels, your skill will improve slower. You'll need to break a LOT of rocks.
There's also a possibility that you've run into a bug I've heard about from someone else, where a skill won't go up. But that's just a rumor.

(EDIT: Also, it seems that Cherry Bombs don't count. You'll need to break rocks with your pickaxe.)

Take a lot of fruit/mushrooms from your cave, and postpone anything but bare minimum watering for a day. Go into the mines, and break every rock you see. It might help to go to the earlier parts of the mines (if you don't mind losing out on iron/gold/minerals) because the first five floors of the mines are nothing but rocks and the occasional bug or slime you can flatten in seconds. Then just bust rocks all day.

Great idea! I'm going to try it. I just look for ores usually. Thanks for this topic!

BTW, you don't need to go into the mines to level up mining skill at all - any rocks will do. If you have rocks on your farm, break those. There are lots of rocks in Cindersap Forest, most of the time (unless you've recently cleared them all). And eventually you'll also unlock an area in the valley that contains nothing but rocks.

Dude getting from level 3-4 is nothing. Imagine getting from 9-10. It probably took me like 2 seasons to level it up.

In the mines, normal stones don't give experience, only gray rocks do. Ore veins, but also gem veins give way more experience. In the overworld, rocks give 1 exp. Check http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Skills

hey but the wiki says that bombs are allowed............... "Mining skill is increased by breaking rocks. Each level adds +1 to Pickaxe proficiency. You are awarded mining skill points when rocks are destroyed -- it doesn't matter if this is done by Pickaxe, Bombs, or by the action of Monsters."
