Butchering animals was once planned, but then scrapped, just because it would be cruel for the setting Stardew Valley has. Which is a little bit contradictory in a moral-philosophical sense, since you can kill other living beings in the game.
I'm pretty sure, that can be changed with mods (the hunting part). I don't know if there are any existing mods for this purpose though.
10/10 makes slingshot actually fun to have.
Sure, I can totally see some people having a problem with it. Personally, in real life I never hunt, tried it once, felt miserable after I capped a squirrel.. I'm a softie. Regardless, we don't need a Red Dead type skinning animals and leaving bloody corpses behind, just an optional hunting minigame. Maybe even catch em in a trap and get a feather or fur or something and you can watch them run happily back to the forest. I would say have an Oregon Trail type of hunting, but we kind of have that in the Prairie King arcade game.
Edit: PS Charlotte-BoyFace, the slingshot is rubbish. LoL they really need to update that cuz currently it is basically useless.
We evolved from fish, we never evolved from birds, so isn't killing fish the greater crime?
