Mushroom Cap - chop Mushroom Tree (1% chance)

You'd be lucky to even get one of these. Mushroom Cap may be more obtainable after spreading out the tree and purchasing seed from Qi though.

I got the garbage hat on my fourth year while doing new content for 1.5. Honestly, I had thought that I would never get that.

cant say the garbage hat is rare I've gotten 2 so far im in year 3 now and found one each year in year 1 and 2 just hit those cans

The Leprechaun Shoes aren't difficult to obtain I got two pairs in my first year.

Prehistoric Funny Bone. I've found several prehistoric bones, but no funny bone. I half believe it isn't even an item in the game.

Yes, bone artifacts have low chance of drop. But there are more source of drops for those, making it much more likely to obtain. Keep trying and you'll get it sooner than you think :D

The garbage hat appearance can be somewhat predicted with Stardew Predictor, unlike the living and mushroom ones.

Well, my first Garbage Hat is found on Fall Year 22, so.. welp.

I suppose Leprechaun shoes can be more obtainable looking at the train schedule there. But generally it is extremely difficult for those not looking at this predictor. Player may not be at location where train notification will be given in the first place and "train will not spawn on the first day after a save is loaded or reloaded"

the 2 most difficult items to obtain are the living hat and the work shoes which you get from fishing. the chance for the shoes is 1 in 10.000. if you boost yourself you can get evry third fishing 1 treasure chest. that means... to get the shoes you need to fish 30.000 times.
the living hat is 1 in 10.000 if you kill wilderness golems. ive activated monsters spawning on my farm and in like 3 months i saw 5 of these golems on my farm...
or you can cut weeds and there is the chance 1 in 100.000...
these 2 items are impossible to get if you are farming for them. all other rare items just need bit pation and you will get them. and with bit pation i mean 1 year doing nothing else then evry day looking for these items. for example to get my second auto petter i had to do the skull cave hundreds of times. to get all dragon weapons from the volcano i had to do the volcano hundreds of times.
its insane. the guy who makes this game left school before second grade...

The trash can lid is rare? Damn. My friend who powergames neurotically and thus searched every bin each day got one early into our experience trying out 1.5 and after we laughed a bit it got trashed because neither of us like hats, lol.

Damn should have saved it for one of the fish or kids..

What's so special about the Leprechaun Shoes, Living Hat, Mushroom Cap and Work Shoes? Are they just rare and painful to obtain if you wanted them, or do they have anything special going for them?

they have nothing special. actually they are pretty weak and you will never use them. buuuut spoiler... there isnt so much content in this game. so some players look for some new challenge

This. It's just for fun, if you're into that kind of thing.

My problem with the leprechaun shoes is that I fail to see the point of them if my farmer can't be dressed up as Robin Hood: Men In Tights. Also, they should be able to locate oodles and oodles of gold everywhere you walk.

In other words, they're all wrapping paper, with no present.
