deluxe barn?

i read i need one to get all the animals, but it doesn't show up in the construction menu with robin. then i read you have to upgrade a regular barn to a big one and THEN to a deluxe, but i just bought a big straight up and i don't see any option to upgrade it anywhere...

Basically, here's the 4-1-1

You go to Robin and build a barn.
Once it's built, you go back to Robin, and scroll through the list of buildings till you find the Big Barn upgrade, and select the barn you want to upgrade.
Once that barn is made, you then hop on back over to Robin, scroll through the building list until you see Deluxe Barn, then select the Big Barn that you want to upgrade

each barn upgrade is listed separately in Robins building list, so scroll through until you find it

You can't just buy a big barn straight up. Either you upgrade from tier 1, or you're using a mod.

well i don't know what else i can tell you two cuz i have never even touched the modding community (honestly i didn't even know there were mods for this game at all) and it is exactly as i already said. i bought a big barn, there is no option to upgrade it to a deluxe. i can see there is an option to upgrade regular barn to big, if i had one, but i don't. i have big already.

i'm using a slightly older save on a fresh install, but it definitely wasn't modded. i'm on the forest map.

There shouldn't be a bug where you can buy a Big Barn straight from Robin without unlocking a Barn in the first place... So with further inspection, and I apologize for doing so...

After rolling through your Steam profile, there was no evidence I can find that the game is in your
Steam Library from where you've purchased directly from Steam. I don't want to make assumptions whether you bought the game straight from Steam or not, but obtaining the game through "other" means could come packed with problems such as your barn issue. And should such problem arise, you should report it to where you got the game from instead. I hope I am wrong, but on the other hand....

Have you tried to purchase a Barn and work your upgrades instead of just sitting around with a Big Barn and trying to upgrade?

Does Marnie offer to sell you goats? If not, then you have a barn, and not a big barn. If Marnie sells goats, and you can't upgrade, then it's a bug.

ugh, my profile must be bugged... i've had problems with screenshots not showing up in the past. and i can promise you, i definitely bought the steam version. i get achievements and everything. not gonna say i haven't pirated games in the past, but this is a legit copy of stardew valley.

thanks. i think i may have gotten confused, and assumed i bought the big barn when i saw it in robin's shop, after i had gotten the regular.
