I stored it for the same reason. Just have to wait for people to experiment with it or get some in-game prompt for a recipe or misc. action. Other wise it just might be valuable junk.

It is most likely a high value item that you can sell, much like the treasure chest or the golden pumpkin. However, since the "high value" is probably only a few thousand, if you're concerned about it's use, might as well store it until someone datamines the secret

I think it's just a decoration for your house, unless you want to sell it for probably a few k.

they should be worth 2500g, seeing how i sold mine :P they are a rare fishing drop from the submarine. maybe one day we'll find a purpose for it other than decor/ quick gold.
