That said, XNB's may cause issues (mostly visual glitches- but can cause crashes if an entry is completely missing) with the current state of beta flux.
There's also this other mod, that affects the town in the same way. Except you need a 'Content Patcher'?!
What is all of this mess? Please explain it to my simple brain. By the way, this is for the standard 1.2 version. I haven't opted into the Beta.
It changes the dirt, grass, and stone cliff color without changing anything else. There are also four different grass color and four different dirt colors so you can change it to your liking. It works with the beta too, if you do opt into it.
(To answer your other question, Content Patcher is a SMAPI mod that's required for certain other mods. If you have SMAPI, it's as easy as just donwloading Content Patcher and then downloading the mod. If you don't have SMAPI, it's pretty simple to install and I'll include the links)
Content Patcher: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1915
SMAPI: https://smapi.io/
mod I've used it as i did not like the yellow dirt of the base game. So when i started looking i found the above and never looked back.
Also A less yellow stardew does not need SMAPI or Content Patcher to work. (tell the 1.3 content patcher version is made) as you have to copy over your main game files (don't forget to back up your content folder) so does not break with a lot of mods other then ones that copy over the same files. If a mod using content patcher is set up right it will not break it either. Like say a mod changes the look of a town building and only it, if set up right with content patcher will not copy over other parts .
The one working on it 19062scott's is keeping it up to date and fixing any/most bugs that gets posted. As now there is just to much walking to test everything with every language with 3 dirt types and 4 grass so 3x4x7=84 times walking the same path. He also has a few patches for other mods like Animal Quality of life mod and worm replacement on another mod page with easy quick download links in main mods desc.
He is also working on a content patcher version for 1.3 though at time of post he said was taking a break for a few weekends as he does work and wants to play his games and stuff.
And there is a 1.3 version that was made to fix most of the bugs that 1.3 made with his original 1.1-1.2.33 version that still says 1.3 beta but works with current steam release as i've been using it now that 1.3 is out.
You can download his update of lark the braves mod from the link above if you play on 1.1-1.3.x if you play on 1.0 then look for lark the braves version though if on steam or gog your already on 1.3.x so will need 19062scott's
Haven't had any issues despite it not having been updated in a while, except for Pam's House.

I like the pink trees to make it easier to differentiate Oak from Maple.

It basically just changes the dirt from bright the hell yellow to a less eye-straining light brown and makes the grass a darker green.
