That isn't the thing from terraria I forget the name but it's like soul of void or something. And there's a divine one too. Both look like the stardew valley item. As well as some of the minor items. There were many things that looked like they came from terraria I just assumed they partnered with them or something.
And this sprite here https://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/chronotrigger/sheet/2514/
Halfway down the page the surprised reaction is there. Looks identical to the surprised reaction on the sprites in stardew valley. They just copied and pasted it and changed the characters face.
Can't find a link to stardew valley surprised reaction but it is the same. And there were many minor things like that I noticed while playing the game.
I'm not trying to bash stardew valley as I've made sprites the same way myself by taking existing ones and changing them, just saying that they used other assets in the creation of this game as well.
And for the folks lambasting Stardew Valley for "ripping off" or "stealing from" Harvest Moon... you DO realize that outside of the concept for a Farming RPG, which can't really be stolen, Stardew is its own entity that doesn't take ANY assets from the Harvest Moon games whatsoever? That's the difference here. Stardew created all of its assets while this "Warm Village" game has outright stolen assets from Stardew to use in its game.
Wut?
It's a game that came out almost 20 years ago that already exists. Not sure what you're getting at.
For the sake of accuracy, it's worth pointing out that Chrono Trigger has been re-released on numerous platforms in that past few years. It was released on Nintendo DS in 2008, Playstation 3 in 2011, iOS in 2011, and Android in 2012. They're definitely still making money on the property..
Uh you can buy the game today on the play store for 10 bucks. Still getting profits from it.
And I've never seen any game besides stardew valley use that sprite before. Not saying it hasn't been used, just that I've never seen it in anything else
That being said this is something for the company to figure out. Which will fail due to (I dont know if this nock off is chinese or japanese) but I know for a fact that China does not reconize copyright laws in many ways. (Think this still happens.)
Yeah well the free ones online are emulators and roms technically illegal unless you also own the physical copy.
It was released for snes, ps1, Nintendo ds and yes it's a phone game now like all of the final fantasy up to 9. It's actually not Terrible for a phone game but you can just get emulators on your phone too.
Terraria... ripping off Minecraft? I'm sorry, no. The two games are COMPLETELY different. You're literally just saying that because both have you mining blocks.
First difference. Terraria has a MASSIVE underground with possible more layers than Minecraft could ever dream of. They also have different underground layers in different biomes, unlike Minecraft, which is the same throughout the world.
Second difference. Crafting. Terraria is just standing next to a station and building things inside your inventory, whereas Minecraft has you interact with the station. If you're going to tell me the crafting is the same, look at every other game that has crafting, and tell me they're also ripping off minecraft.
Third difference. Enemies. Terraria has an enormous number of enemies compared to Minecraft. Also, there's the Corruption, which takes over the world at a periodic rate, whereas Minecraft has no such thing.
Fourth difference. Bosses. In Minecraft, there's only 2 bosses : The Netherhead skull-blaster thing, and the Ender Dragon. In Terraria, there's probably more than 10 unique bosses. On top of that, each boss gives you a specific set of materials allowing you to craft better weapons or build items to get to other bosses, whereas Minecraft doesn't really give you anything aside from asthetics or minorly important items.
While the combat may be slightly similar, give me a sword fighting game that doesn't act like both games. And textures-wise, many blocky games look similar, but with variations in style. Terraria is one of these, with it's smaller and more realistic textures (ish)
Chrono Trigger ripped off Dragon Ball. Chrono is red headed Goku. Though they were made by the same artist who was just being lazy, Now Goku was based off the Monkey King from Chinese culture. And Chrono Trigger is about time travel.
I can't remember where I was going with that.
