stardew valley vs animal crossing?
so my gf really wants animal crossing but we dont have a switch so i suggested this game which i dont actually have either.
how similar are the 2 games to each other?
how much content does SV have? replay value? how much customisation is there? can she build her own farm and build her own buildings?

Yes. You can build your own farm, and place farm buildings wherever you want, in 5 different farm designs you can choose at the start of the game. You can't design the rest of the town, though.

There's NPCs to socialize, build relationships and make friends, marriage, etc. And that's all in the vanilla game, mods can really expand it further for a lot of replayability.

I would recommend Stardew Valley it is similar to Animal Crossing with the building of a farm, machines to make goods, helping the towns people and reltionships. Can even marry one and have kids.

You might also suggest Animal Paws it is similar to Stardew Valley but different graphics and you play as a cute animal.
this gam is like anmla crossing axcept its a ctully a dating sim if u ahv a girfrlend u dont need it jus get animal corssin

You can totally ignore the villagers and not gift them then you will not get any cutscenes or dialog. You can play as a antisocial farmer and still enjoy the game, it is not a dating sim. That is only 1 aspect of the game if you choose to partake in it.

My partner watched me play Stardew Valley for countless hours and never showed an interest in playing.

She sees something online about Animal Crossing online so we went out to buy a Switch. She's totally hooked. When I ask her, she says she likes...
- the real time concept
- tasks and rewards systems
- customization and design options
- overall aesthetics of the game

It's also a way to interact with friends by visiting each other's islands, sending each other gifts in the mail, chatting about new developments...

Stardew is great and all, but it's not a substitute for Animal Crossing (and vice versa). They're very different.

Stardew valley isnt a dating Simulator.. it's a farming game with Harvest Moon in mind.

The two biggest differences between the games is that Stardew is focused more on farming and resource gathering, while Animal Crossing is focused more on customization and decoration, and Stardew is in game time while Animal Crossing is in real time. They move at pretty different paces, and while both are on the chill side of gaming, Animal Crossing is far further in that direction, which may be better or worse depending on what you are looking for.

SV multiplayer isn't cross-platform.

It isn't. The only cross-play it has is between Steam and GoG

Animal Crossing isn't on PC and Stardew Valley doesn't require a hard to find (at the moment) console.

As someone who has recently purchased both games, I can confidently say that Stardew Valley is a better game than Animal Crossing. Besides the fact that it's a quarter of the price, the gameplay isn't nearly as boring and repetitive, every npc is their own person with serious depth, and it has a LOT of customization and replay value. You should most definitely purchase Stardew, it's a phenomenal game.
