what is the best item for gifting?

I need an item that is easily obtained and most to all villagers like or love

just so you know, I have most recipes, since I have all my skills at level 10 except for combat which is 9

most crops like hot peppers or parsnips are loved and liked by mostly everyone (except vincent, jas, haley and abigail). milk is also liked by a few people. another thing is rabbit's foot, only hated by penny. although, you do need to fully upgrade the coop, or go to the travelling cart (fridays, sundays). the only item i know that is liked by everyone is a diamond, but those aren't the most common item. hope this helped a little! :-)

Coffee is liked by everyone who isn't a child, so I just carry boatloads of it. For the kids they both love junk that I grow normally or forage a ton of, like grapes for Vincent and Fairy Rose for Jas which is mandatory if you have bee hives going in the fall since they give you a CRAP ton of money in bonus.

the absolute best is prismatic shard, everyone loves it except Haley.

Mayo's my main go-to for everyone but kids and Caroline, they're the only ones I can think of off the top of my head that don't like mayo. Fruit from any fruit tree seems to be a good one as well as even the kids like fruit. Coffee is also great for gifts as well.

Gems have the disadvantage that they're only worth the base 45 points times Santa(x5) / Brithday (x8). Where gold quality crops will also add another 25% on top.

If you took the foraging lvl 10 perk then i'd go for fiddlefern as you will get iridium quality worth a 50% bonus instead of just 25%.

While i would always advise to gift loved items instead, especially if they're easily obtained, and even more so if you took lvl 10 foraging.

Wild horseradish for Krobus,
Leek for George.

A liked item will get you a 45 base while a loved item will give you a base of 80. With iridium quality on a birthday that would be:
Base x Birthday x Iridium (+50%)
45x8x1.5 = 540 = 2.16 hearts (like fiddlefern which is a universal like)
80x8x1.5 = 960 = 3.84 hearts

If you use loved items only it only takes you two years birthdays (if you restore the community centers bullitin board worth 500 points = 2 hearts) to bring everyone above 8 close to 10 hearts (for the marriage candidates).

Those where you can only gift gold or lower quality will take a 3rd year or just continuous effort (which is only really worth it if you want to marry them or if it's for the Wizard.. imho), while 640 = 2.56 hearts is still working much better than just 360 = 1.44 hearts.
