Leah broke up with me

So something strange has happened.

This is my first playthrough and its completely blind, so no spoilers please. I was dating Leah in my game--we were at full hearts and we had the picnic cutscene with her ex. I was holding off on proposing to her because I was saving it for a special occasion I guess? Anyway we were dating for like a year at this point.

I play Stardew on 2 computers, and this is the first time I've played it on this computer in a long time. I have steam set to cloud sync and when I got on today everything was fine--it seems completely updated and the game is on the same day I remember it being the last time I logged off. However, at this point I hadn't talked to Leah in a while because I haven't been able to catch her in her schedule. This time I finally caught her by the river, chatted with her, but I noticed that our relationship star was grey.

What do you know, I check it, and it says "(single)" and 2 hearts are greyed out. Leah is no longer my girlfriend???

Help me, I use relationships in videogames to cope with my inability to maintain relationships in real life and having a girl leave me in a videogame is the ultimate low I need to fix this

(FYI, I'm not joking entirely, this is a real issue I'm having with the game)

They don't decrease if you have maxed hearts. There's normally no way to end a relationship

How long in game did you not talk to her? Heart deterioration is a thing but its very small. Is there anything else noticably different about your save or is that it?

Hearts do not decrease if you have them maxed which I did. Also, I haven't noticed anything else wrong. I'll look around and see if I can find anything?

I give gifts to everyone, so I guess it's possible that it took a heart off then it deteriorated? But surely that wouldn't make her go back to being single?

Alright so I was a bit mistaken, jealousy only happens if you're married. You mentioned you have cloud syncing, does your play time look right?

That only applies if they're your spouse. But OP was only dating Leah.

I'd say it's just a weird bug or something - in the end, gaining back hearts isn't all that difficult.

Yeah my play time looks about right. I don't keep incredibly good track of it but I'd say it's accurate from what I can assume.

That's true, but I'm scared that our relationship has been completely reset--like, will the story events that happen in the relationship re-occur? That'd shatter my immersion lol

Are you using any mods?

My only guess is that cloud syncing borked your save. I've never trusted Steam's Cloud syncing after it overwrote my Borderlands 2 save that had an OP 7 Maya for a previous save where I hadn't even completed the game yet. Disabled cloud immediately after becuase I was absolutley pissed.

If everything seems to be the same, except for her relationship with you, I'd recommend doing a save file edit to get her back to 10 stars if you don't want to use a mod like CJB Cheat Menu to increase it.

Singleplayer, and the game is 100% vanilla, absolutely no mods. What confuses me is that the game is completely fine everywhere else except for my relationship with Leah. Even the other villagers hearts look unaffected.

I'm gonna try giving a bouqet to Leah and see what happens.

Good news, I gave her a bouqet and her hearts bumped right back up to 10.

I don't know what happened there, but it's fixed now, and the relationship thankfully has not been reset. I have my digital girlfriend back, guys!

when I got married with emily and got all 13 hearts with her and didn't talk to her in a while she got down to like 5 hearts, hearts degrade no matter what
