PSA: Farmhands' farming skill perks (Tiller, Rancher, Artisan) is irrelevant in current beta
in our current game, our group wanted Artisan as quickly as possible, so all harvesting of crops was left to me, one of the farmhands. We didn't notice anything off until much later on in the game, when the host realized his ledger totals at the end of the day was much lower than mine.

After a quick few rounds of testing, we realized that even though my ledger told me that we were getting the Tiller and Artisan bonus, the gold added to the shared account the next morning was consistent with the host's ledger, which obviously had no bonus.

So yeah, as it currently stands, the host needs to be responsible for any skill that increases the value of an item, otherwise the perk is completely worthless. I'm really hoping this is a bug of sorts and will be changed. I was hoping we'd get to specialize.

try selling your Artisans goods at Pierres. I believe that the End of Day Sum is the only place where your profession doesnt take effect
Selling the goods directly to the store circumvents this issue.

Well spotted, and thanks for letting us know! My husband is hosting our game, so I will use stores to take advantage of my sell price bonuses rather than the shipping bin :)

I'm a guest with lv5+ fishing with the +25% cash for fish and noticed the fish I put in the bin were still being sold at their increased, despite the host having only lv4 fish and not having that perk.

Ah if that is the case, maybe the issue that some folks are having should be reported as a bug, if it is behaving in an inconsistent manner.

@Lunacy Here's hoping it's just a bug with the Tiller/Artisan profession then. Are you certain? You can't use the financial report/ledger that appears after you go to bed to determine if you got the extra money or not - the host's ledger is the only one that matters.

And sure, pierre is a valid option. Not very practical though. There's also the cheat mod, which you can use to give the host Tiller/Artisan as well once you unlock it, but that's a bit morally grey for some people.

I just checked. It'll show the bonuses to you if you have the artisan skill, but you only get the host's value. Had a case where it showed 4407 earnings for me but we only earned 3970 from the host's side.

This is incredibly dumb... CA made the skills useless then. The farmhand are like useless. =/

If you read the rest of the topic, a workaround for this issue has already been discovered.
It is also unintended and will be addressed.

If you cant wait, there is a mod to fix it.

In my case? I can wait. Not in a hurry or anything. Just worried it was intentional. Good to know it isn't. This game needs to make everyone useful at something. Again, let's hope they fix that...
