Does the Riverside farm make the game tedious?
I picked the Riverside farm at the start of the game without knowing just how much room you sacrifice for the simple sake of fishing. Im on day 1 of fall and i want to know if it is worth starting my game over for the sake of having extra land and more creative space. Also if you picked the Riverside farm, tell me about your experience with it. Thank You.

Well, the map is quite limited, though you can get some good fish if you level fishing (also get some of the rarer species of river fish as well), especially placing traps along the edges of the water. It may not be good for having a lot of crops and ranch animals, yet it makes the job of watering the crops easier. You can still place quite abit of stuff along the limited space and isles, I notably used the central isle for my animals alone. I haven't fully used all of my land yet, still have the western and southwestern parts covered in trees, which can be difficult to move due to Stumps and Boulders.

Overall, that Riverside homestead is perfect if you want to invest in fishing and want the convenience of water where ever you go on the stead, yet isn't all that bad if you want to grow crops or raise animals. Yet, it may take awhile to make use of all of it, due to the boulders and log stumps just like the other homesteads. Once you clear off some of the land, you'll be able to have good access to all the isles and the narrow bridges that link them.

You have a lot of shore line for crab pots. It'll take you a bit to unlock the ability to get them except for the community center ones. Try to raise Linus's hearts because he'll mail you a recipe that just takes one fish of any kind and it's great for energy food in the mines, or it increases the selling value of some of the crab pot fish. Like specifically the ones normally worth 20. Processing the crab pot trash can make a lot of resources. You can still do a little farming with the land, but there isn't a lot of room for buildings so you can't have a lot of animals. Nor can you have many barns filled with kegs. You can be successful at that farm, but don't expect to be a powerhouse like if you had a massive winery operation.

Sadly I haven't found any of the special layouts to be worth it. There's just too much space taken up for them to be worth it imo. I gave the fishing one a try for a while but it just became annoying to have to walk over all the bridges and spread everything out on a bunch of islands. For me the slightly quicker access to various resources just isn't worth the loss of space, it's not a big deal to spend a minute or two walking to the nearest shore to fish but you only get one area of farmland.

I liked the riverside farm I tried them all and river is my favorite from the specials (but thats also becouse when I have nothing to do that day I fish) but the normal setting is best if you just want to make a huge farm for me thats never the case I've got 3 save games of the normal farm and I only use about 60% of the ground

If you're a minmaxer, Standard Farm is the only one that will really fit you. But there's no real reason to restart just for that, you'll get everything in time anyway. It's more like, if you're the kind of person that wants to do challenge runs for max money in limited amounts of time, you need Standard. But if you use your space well, any farm will make plenty of money for anything the game has to offer.
