The forest potion allows you to read their writing. You see them twice before drinking it; once even with the wizard, who apparently sees them too.
Furthermore, they seem to vanish when Lewis looks towards them in the beginning; I'm not sure that they're invisible to others so much as they're just good at hiding from prying eyes.
Furthermore, no mention of the soulless corperation that apparently has enough power to amend laws in their favor so they can perform otherwise illegal mining operations?
But I though about something similar. Depending of amount of supernatural stuff, there may be 2 things:
1. You are not dead, but something happend with your mind (you are in coma or work made you burn out and go mad). And whole stardew valley is your dream, where everyting is sort of projection of your past life. For example - as person above said, Joja is firm, you used to work for.
2. You somehow was trapped into sort of another realm. Other citizens are people, who experienced same, but their memories were changed. Your granddad knew the truth and shared it with some people. But he was the only one, who managed to escape. So - he wanted you to save others. But, when you came, they already lost hope and sanity and turned from circle of acknowledged to cult of Yoba. Citizens, who visit you on holydays, are just projections - thats why they have no personalities. And most of people there experience some sort of hallucinations/possesions. You see junimos. Lewis think, that he can drive away (which he simply cant. Basically just cuz daily you see him in town, and he will have no time to sleep, if he will drive your swags in the night). Etc etc
I have no idea, what s creepy about marriage, since I didnt marry in this game yet. Fact, that you can erase mind of your partner and turn your childs into crows? See post above, it should match it
actually its doves, not crows :P
then you definitely have to try marriage lol. sometimes your waifu/husband keep telling you to make money and some conversations are funny xD

The stardrop doesn't affect you in any way, instead of making you stronger. It's just that no one pays attention. In the CC cutscene, Lewis was facing the other way, so the junimos moved with being seen only by you. Not dying isn't so bad, isn't it? And your grandpa is a good person. It's not like he's going to grab the nearest weapon and beat you with it. You didn't become "bored", you just felt that you weren't happy there. Kent wouldn't have come back to the valley if it was all spooky. He was on war, so he'd know better to come back if worse things were there. Once you consider them, not so spooky.
That sounds like Alex since he's the one who's into sports
