First year before strawberry: It's close between potato and kale, but I will go with potato with chance of acquiring double potatos. All money should be saved to maximize to purchase strawberry.

First year after strawberry: Strawberry. If planned accordingly, you can harvest 3 times (20 plots only).

2nd year and beyond: My assumpiton is that every crop will be converted by jar/keg with artisan perk. Deluxe speed is used. All amount is per a plot in a season.

Keg

- Strawberry (At the beginning): 3,018. Harvest 6 itmes
- Rhubarb: 2,769: Harvest 3 times
- Kale: 2,070: Harvest 6 times
- Potato: 1,814.4: Harvest 6 times * 1.2 (double harvest chance)
- Garlic: 1,701. Harvest 9 itmes
- Cauliflower: 1,650. Harvest 3 times
- Strawberry (After 13th): 1,509. Harvest 3 times
- Coffee: 1,320. Harvest 11 times * 4 / 5 * 150
- Parsnip: 981. Harvest 9 times.
- Green Bean: 882. Harvest 7 times

Jar

- Strawberry (at the beginning): 2,436
- Kale: 2,268
- Garlic: 2,142
- Potato: 2,116.8
- Rhubarb: 2,058
- Cauliflower: 1,680
- Parsnip: 1,512
- Green Bean: 1,274
- Strawberry (after 13th): 1,218

There we go. The best crop is strawberry, providing that you have seeds at the beginning. Rhubarb is a great option if you have kegs to spare. If you prefer quicker turnaround with jar, kale, garlic or potato will do just fine.

In a time where people hate spoiler for movies and games...

Personally I like every crop that drops multiple harvest. The spamming *blop* is pretty awesome.

I'm picking strawberries and potatoes. Not for a financial reason. Just for giggling because of the sounds.

im on year two, and thats my second save. Pretty sure, I've seen every crop in this game. Just lazy to count by myself, what will be more profitable - one plant with multiple harvests, but long growth time or one plant with single harvest and fast growth. Especially if we are talking about fact, that I have kegs and went into artisian skill

strawberry is quite profitable. i managed to stock few seeds from 1st year egg festival so i can plant them later at 2nd year.

I don't know if you have access to a certain area yet, but there it has the most profitable Spring crop in the game- Rhubarb seeds. They are a bit pricey at $100, but you get way more for what you pay for. Late in the game (I am in year 8 of my 2nd playthrough) and I plant the following crops in the spring- Strawberries, Rhubarb. and Ancient fruit (even though it'll won't produce crops until the Summer since it takes a month to grow). For flowers I always do the um . . oh gees, what are they called? The head is circular and they can be used in the Lucky Lucky recipe. I always plant flowers for the honey. If I were to pick a secondary spring crop though it be Cauliflower and I've done Potatos too.

4 beans per harvest, 10 times in spring = 40x15g= 600g or 8 coffee x150g = 1200g, it can grow in summer too

The best crops to grow (Base profit wise, no tiller, keg, or preserve jars included) are Beans, Cauliflower, Kale, and Strawberries on year 2. Beans, being a mulitpule harvest crop, will continue to produce after the first harvest. Cauliflower because of it's chance to become a giant crop. Kale and Strawberries are due to the profit per day, the wiki has some info on that if you want to know more.
