What's the best gem to grow in the crystalarium? I'm currently doing diamonds.

Diamonds are also universally either liked or loved from what I saw on the wiki if I read it right. Though if you need refined quartz you can make quartz with it and then refine it in a furnace with coal.

Diamonds, sadly. I had hoped that other gems, like rubies or emeralds, would at least be close. Like, say diamonds are 150 per day and rubies are 140 per day, but you get the money faster as a trade-off. Unfortunately, diamonds are worth quite a bit more per day. I want rubies and emeralds. :C

It would have been sweet if you could put the Prismatic shard in there, but then you've be getting even more richer more quickly lol.

Yes, a lost book from the library says the ******* in the prismatic shard reacts badly to the crystalanium.

When quarts had quality, gold star fire quarts made more money, and it popped up every day.

However with the 1.1 update, they removed quality from quarts and fire quarts, and instead 'added' quality to animal products (a strange trade-off).

If ou want to pad out some minerals you can put some rare crystals inside of it to reproduce it, but it won't net you as much money as the diamond, because anything selling for less than a dimaond that is rare, will also take 5 days just like the diamond.

I will have to fix this one. If you go to the wiki under Crystalarium you will see they have a list of every gem and how it sells for, how long it takes, and the gold per day value. There you will see that Diamonds are the only gem that take 5 days on the list. How ever it is still the best value. Although you could try any of the top 5. Diamond, Starshards, Helvite, Emerald, or Ruby.

Well diamond for profit,

but, well.. Abigail loves to eat delicious amethyst, and Emily gets good vibes from aquamarine, and Penny really loves emerald. So I have a few machines just stocking up 'gifts' to give them or others who like pretty rocks basically.

Diamonds are 'sort of' the best item.

Star shards can make you almost the same money.
Let me put it to you this way, for one month (28 days)

You can make 5 diamonds in this time (25 days) and are making the 6th but it's not there yet.
That's 3750 by the end of the month.

You can make 8 star shards (27 days, 18hrs, 40min)
That's 4000 credits by the end of the month.

two months worth, the diamond beats the star shard by 250 credits,but three months out, they are tied at 12,000.

A full year goes by and you can somehow manage to never miss a single tick, and harvest right at the 10 min mark, then the dimaond wins by 500 (a full star shard).

After the two year point, you've made a WHOLE 1000 credits more with diamonds (smirks) but this is provided you never miss a beat.

I guess diamonds ARE the best, but star shards are kind of close, though star shards are far more rare... I smell a mod on the way that should make the star shard worth 1000.. ^-^;
