No, it's better to craft it, as crafting it costs less.

As Riedy said, Speed-gro is very good for blueberries because it gives you an extra harvest.

In general tough it depends on the crop, for some it won't give a benefit at all, for others it will.

Same for the difference between Speed-Gro and quality Speed-Gro but it should also be noted quality speed-gro is actually cheaper to buy at the oasis on a thursday compared to the normal Speed-Gro at Pierre's so its always a good idea to stock up on some imo.

I've only used it once or twice myself before I had the greenhouse and when it was getting close to the end of a season. Good thought on the blueberries though.

...red255, your problem is only there because you chose to plant an enormous crop, for people planting fields in a more managable size speed grow is benificial. once you decide plant that much ancient fruit it's normal for it to take a long time.

if you look blueberries or any crops up on the Offical Wiki it will tell you when the speed grow will give you extra harvest. fyi

Quote From the Wiki Page.

"Basic Fertilizer and Quality Fertilizer only affect the first berry from every harvest, which means 2 out of 3 berries harvested from each bush are going to be regular quality crops. That makes Speed-Gro an optimal fertilizer for this crop, as it gives one extra harvest before the Fall (assuming planting on day 1 of the summer), increasing season earnings from Blueberry by 25% compared to 17% with Quality Fertilizer (assuming the first berry of each harvest has gold quality). Deluxe Speed-Gro is not recommended because it yields the same number of harvests as regular Speed-Gro at a higher cost."

Also Note: Although deluxe speed grow is cheaper at the desert you will only save 700 gold by going to buy it. Plus the time it takes to get there and backit isn't worth it unless it will give you an extra harvest from any given crop. The best way to get speed grow is to craft it. It is only clams and pine tar. just save coral and clams when foraging on the beach and make sure to tap a few trees and save their products.

They are not plant 3000+ crops here. Speed grow is only going to give you 2 extra days the op will not need if planted on the first. Also both fertilizer are way easy to make for free if you save the stuff from the start of the game. Stick with the wiki suggestion. Also there is no way of know if the op even has the desert unlocked.

Sorry, but I couldn't resist. Kind of a necromancer here.

Well...I don't think speed gros are good best for multi-harvest plants (plants that keeps producing crops), unless it's Ancient Fruit (because of its super long harvest time) and Hops (3 extra Pale Ales). That applies specially to individually low values like blueberries, because there are better options for kegs or jars.
Fertilizers are better for blueberries because it will apply to EVERY blueberry it produces (except for the extra crops beyond the 3 base crops, the same for potatoes and coffees). The extra sell value from the better quality blueberries (from the 3 harvests) will overshadow the extra 3 blueberries speed gro.

Deluxe Speed Gros are best used for Wheat (you get 3 extra harvests if used on the first day of summer), Hops and high value one-time-harvest crops (Melons, Cauliflower, Starfruit etc). Generally artisan product crops.

The only thing I use speed gro for is the flowers for my bees. It will generally get me one additional batch of flower honey instead of wild honey, and for fall fairy rose honey, that is a nice chunk of change when spread over 200 bee houses.
