How do you get chickens back in their coop?

Dont close the door when the chickens are outside. Theres a chance they die overnight (or get eaten ;D). They will automatically go inside around 5pm as Jamlaka said.

Dang Ive wasted so much time closing and opening the coop/barn doors everyday.

It's propably a bug, but when it's 5pm or something and animals walk back in they do so even through the closed door. So in the morning, open door and let them out and straight close it. Later in the evening come back to see they are all inside, because if you go to sleep early they'll be left out.

Also.. *always* build a fenced area outside the barn/coop.

protip: if your animals stuck, just go to another map and then back - if thats late enough, they will warp to their buildings

No. At least not for me. Im lazy and my farm is so efficient on its own, I just need to look after kegs and my fields, that I'm ready after a few IG hours. I NEVER closed the door overnight. They wont go out in the rain and it never influenced their happiness.
