Sub vs Dub
Let me start by saying i prefer the sub over the dub, but why do so many people hate on the dub. I found the voice acting to be good and Okabe, while acting a bit different in the dub, still suits his character.

If I prefered dub over subs, like most other russians, I wouldn't ever learn english. People kept calling me weird for it back in the day. Now look where that got them. Dub carries a loss of original meaning to various degree, so I dislike it for that.
I prefer sub over dub most of the time but I am fine with dubbed. Some dubbs are really good ( Like Durarara ) Others are just flat out terrible though.

Either way this is more of a thing of personal preference. Why someone attacks someone else for preferring one over the other I have no clue other than the fact that they are jerks.
I prefer the sub here. The dub never quite captured Mayuri right and Kurisu is more cute as a Japanese Tsun

Yeah dub mayrui doesn't sound dim and innocent enough. It really kills the character

Dubs are abominations. Would you go and watch Downfall with an English dub instead of the German?

Would you watch Cowboy Bebop in Japanese?

Yeah alright Japanese dub for that is fine but if you think it trumps the English dub I think that's a bit weird.

Point is it's personal preference and I think people who get worked up over it are the odd ones.
Cowboy Bebop is a Japanese anime made originally with Japanese voice-over. My point is, when you watch foreign films you should watch it in the original language (with subs) that it was intended to be watched in.

And I respect that sentiment for the most part. What I'm saying is there are other practical reasons why someone would personally prefer to watch things in dub. Like not wanting to look at the bottom of the screen whenever someone is speaking, wanting to hear conversations in your own language, plainly thinking other languages fit the tone better, etc etc. You may think that's lessening the experience or something but at the end of the day I do not believe you can tell people they are wrong to enjoy dub more than sub because objective reason X. I'm not interested in arguing whether dub makes the experience worse or not, but I'm saying it is a personal choice that should be tailored to the viewer's personal preference.

Yeah same here I don't care what X person likes it is up to them, I just hate when people say, "everyone elses points are invialid because of X" like, "all dubs suck cause of X" You are just throwing all other factors out and saying yours matter most and don't care what others think.

It is like saying no blue is better than red. red is a pleb color. (that is the whole dub vs sub in my eyes.)

I mainly use crunchyroll for anime so naturally I watch mainly subs. I might get a funi sub soon though which would increase the amount of dubs I watch.

English voices lack of everything, from the lack of passion to being completely flat and emotionless.

It's just like they're reading their lines and just finish the job faster and comeback home.
