Is this game worth playing after watching the Anime?

I got this game as a gift for Christmas, I watched the anime a 2 years ago when I first got into anime and I really liked it then and probably still would love it now. My main concern is that I basically already know the story now because of this, I'm wondering if it was still enjoyable by someone who watched the anime before playing the Visual Novel.

of course it's enjoyable, even more so, because you'll find out all the stuff the anime missed. the anime tried to condense a 40 hour story into 8 hours, and while it was a fantastic anime, it missed so much stuff including almost all of okabe's inner dialogue and chuunibyou

I did the other way around, so can't say for sure, but the VN definitely has much more content, minor and major details, some parts are completely different. It also presents an amazing opportunity to read Okabe's thoughts.

I'm currently playing the game after watching the anime (which became one of my favourites) a while ago, and this is actually my first Visual Novel. While the anime is awesome in its own right, I've quickly come to appreciate the VN even more, because it provides a more immersive and detailed experience. This has led me to reconsider my ideas on the Visual Novel as an artistic means, and I will surely try more in the future.
