Can't pull out phone or find the "phone triggers button"

Hey, everyone. I'm at the part where I have to pull out my phone to use the microwave. Instead of the dialog where I'm instructed to hit P to pull out the phone, it gives me the following message:

"Let's press the 'Phone triggers' button and call the cellphone and make a call to the 'PhoneWave (name subject to change)'. It allows to confirm the controller settings from "CONFIG" of the system menu."

I think the game is assuming that I'm using a controller instead of a mouse and keyboard -- how do I fix this problem? Thanks.

click on the Date icon on the top left to open the phone.
