I know these files changed a bit around with time. You need to know exactly which file, and also obtain the startup logs for your server, to see what's going on. Otherwise, its nigh impossible to help you with that.
I only have two files on my server, fake.cfg and ServerSettings.ini.
Other then i only got backup logs, so i dont understand what to do to those settings to change them, really wish there was an explanation somewhere.
I dont understand what 5.0f means, is it minutes? Or something else?Does no one really know anything at all?

It's a multiplier. See the guide : http://www.small-impact.com/BlackDeath/support/dedicated-servers/

You still need access to the information I asked for if you need the devs to have a chance to troubleshoot with you. Also "fake.cfg" is not a game file at all. You need to talk to your hosting provider.

I asked Multiplier the same question when i first got my server, They said with The Black Death you can not make changes you can edit the file all you want but it wont change anything.

Oh that is to bad, but thanks for clearing that up for me.

i understand why they are doing it this way for now because actually editing those files and changing stuff can cause serious issues. If you do not know what your doing or if the server or game cant handle the changes.

Thanks for that info.

Did they say if it was disabled for a time and/or if they intended to bring them back eventually under some form? It was always my understanding that there would be some level of customizing permitted on private servers, that it was "feature" per se. Maybe it's changed.

I know multiplier has multiple games that are extremely customizable. but i think it is because of the stauts of the game currently they cant add customization features. But i am sure in the future it will be.

Hello there Zatio,

Thanks for posting, apologies for the delayed reply.

We do need to have a look at our Dedicated Server Guide and make sure that the information is up to date. I understand that you did used to be able to create the file or locate it if it was already there, and change some settings in game on a private server. This functionality may have been removed, or has not been updated for a while. I can pass this onto the team and see if we can update our guide with some newer information.

Thanks for letting us know about this, and thanks for playing!

Hello again Zaito,

I have replied to your post in our other sub forum about this topic. Here is my reply to your other post so you have all of this information in one place:

Is that it?If so what am i supposed to be looking for exactly? Also no need to get upset with me for not understanding what you are trying to tell me here.

Hello there Zaito,

The "document" that HolyAvengerOne is referring too, I think is our documentation/guide on our website, which is this one here:

http://www.small-impact.com/BlackDeath/support/dedicated-servers/

Have you installed The Black Death onto your server? And have you also done the steps with regards to downloading and running the "server.bat" file that is found on our guide above?

Also, if you do not natively have a English UK Keyboard layout, you may not be able to use the Tilde key (located above the Tab key and to the left of the 1 key) to be able to use the Console Command in game.

To change your keyboard language I wrote a guide on this over on our Steam hub,

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1272442905

I have also replied in one of your other threads here:

You may need to create a support ticket with Multiplay themselves to ask about this one. I am not too knowledgeable in the technical side for setting up servers, but I hope I can help you out with this one.

On your control panel for Multiplay, which should be called Clanforge, you should have a support section that looks like this:

https://i.imgur.com/rkD7bpH.jpg

You may need to open a ticket with them. But they may say that you need documentation from the team that develops The Black Death, being us the SIG Team.

Our Dedicated Server Setup guide, is aimed at people who want to setup a LAN server on their own PC, specifically.

We do not have a guide specifically for players who want to purchase and rent a server from one of our supported hosts.

Some of the information in the guide may help you, but the section on our Guide, which I'll paste below:

Server setup with command lines

http://www.small-impact.com/BlackDeath/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Server.zip

1 – Download and extract the .bat file above into …\Steam\SteamApps\common\BlackDeath\Plague\Server\WindowsServer\Plague\Binaries\Win64

2 – Right click to edit the _Server.bat, here you can change server settings such as server name. Save once you’ve made any changes.

3 – Double click the _Server.bat file to run your server.

^^^^ This is very important! You will need to do this when installing The Black Death onto your server too.

In our guide under the section Using Custom Server Settings (Experimental), these are "experimental" as stated, meaning that they might or might not work. This guide has not been updated for a while, and we will need to look over it soon to update it.

The folder structure for your server may be different to the one in the screenshot on our guide, https://i2.wp.com/www.small-impact.com/BlackDeath/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Default-Server-Settings-Folder-2.png

"For everyone running their own server, we’ve added brand new custom server settings to allow you to tailor your game to how you want to play. Want to limit combat for a purely RP experience? No problem! Think the hunger rate is too easy? Make it faster!

Please Note: You need to make sure that when you add any change these settings on your server that it is OFFLINE when you are making these changes.

To add and change custom server settings you will need to navigate to the Plague/Config folder located on the Black Death install on your dedicated server (not the install on your home PC)"

the “DefaultServerSettings.ini” file whilst you are connected to your server and edit the file using a text editor such as Notepad, Wordpad or Notepad++."

Again, this is our guide over on our website:
http://www.small-impact.com/BlackDeath/support/dedicated-servers/

It is the main source of information for setting up a LAN server on your own PC to play The Black Death. Some of this can be used when setting up an externally hosted server from a service provider such as Multiplay.

I realise that this is a long reply, but I hope this information was useful to you. Apologies if I caused more confusion on this subject. There is a lot that goes into setting this all up on our side in terms of how it all works, and I am not massively knowledgeable on the technical side of server setups.

Many thanks,

[SIG] Emily

Hello there Zaito,

I will quote my reply here for you, from another forum post on the topic of LAN server setup currently having issues.

Originally posted by SIG Emily:
Hello everyone,

I decided to merge this thread with another that was created on this same topic regarding LAN servers.

As always, we recommend doing a clean re-install when we have a new update for The Black Death, as this can help to iron out any issues that are caused by having files that are not updated correctly.

This error "[2018.04.10-04.17.01:996][214]LogSpawn: Warning: SpawnActor failed because of collision at the spawn location [X=-81733.492 Y=183419.844 Z=3445.802] for [Weapon_RelicStandardSword_Pickup_C]",

which was originally found by Babalonkie, seems to appear in the Server Log when running a LAN server. I passed this thread over to the team to have a look at too. They think it might be related to the connection issues that are being experienced over on the live servers. As you need to be Online on Steam to be able to setup and run a LAN server, due to Steam authenticating your login and for DRM/anti piracy reasons, this could be the reason why LAN servers are acting up.

The team are aware of this issue with players not being able to login to their LAN servers, and also the "Using Custom Server Settings (Experimental)" section from our Dedicated Server Setup Guide. As these are not currently functioning when set in game.

http://www.small-impact.com/BlackDeath/support/dedicated-servers/

Thank you all for your patience and support as we work on these fixes.

// The SIG Team

I do hope this information has helped, thank you again for posting.
