I am excited to find out that The Twins is real. Whats the name of it irl? I suppose we agree that would be a really cool player-castle idea?
There isn't anything really like the Twins irl. What I think Holy meant, was that geographically Westeros looks like Great Britain, and that the events in Westeros are all based on history (primarily within Great Britain).
The war of the kings is basically the war of the roses
The titan of Braavos is the Collusses statue of Rhodes
Valyrian steel is probably based on either the swords the vikingr made or damascuss steel
The Wall, is based on Hadrians Wall and the Wildlings are based on Picts

Yes, I knew much of that, but "Toll Castles" did exist historically. Whoever owns a toll castle could make some good gold in this game...provided that it was in an area where the river was really hard to traverse

The Twins is basically described as an entire castle at each end of the bridge. So I object to them being called the same/similar :)
