The Twins from Game of Thrones found in Mercia!
So i often wonder if any of you are huge fans of ASOIAF or GOT. And there is this small little hold along the Soar that looks just like the Twins of House Frey, if it had been first under construction.

Anyways, I think this area should be a buyable house because of it's key location (It's somewhat in between Laketown and Queen's Crossing) Perhaps it can be one of the first 'clan castles' if made a bit larger and out of stone or something.

Also, if the hold is moved to a part of the river where it's hard to cross (high rocks), whoever owns the house can charge people gold for crossing. : )

^ That's what it looks like, with a bridge between the two. ^

Oh ya, and this is The Twins from the show --> https://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/gameofthrones/images/0/0a/The-Twins-Second-Sons.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140327131156

It's looks like the Twins because ASOIAF is based on history, as is this game :)

I think it's funny how a lot of people don't realize how much Westeros is a twisted version of Great Brittain, hehe.

I am excited to find out that The Twins is real. Whats the name of it irl? I suppose we agree that would be a really cool player-castle idea?

@ a_borg_cube

There isn't anything really like the Twins irl. What I think Holy meant, was that geographically Westeros looks like Great Britain, and that the events in Westeros are all based on history (primarily within Great Britain).

The war of the kings is basically the war of the roses

The titan of Braavos is the Collusses statue of Rhodes

Valyrian steel is probably based on either the swords the vikingr made or damascuss steel

The Wall, is based on Hadrians Wall and the Wildlings are based on Picts

There's lots more but you get the jist :3

Yes, I knew much of that, but "Toll Castles" did exist historically. Whoever owns a toll castle could make some good gold in this game...provided that it was in an area where the river was really hard to traverse

Yes, pretty much, but a lot precise and specific and with all the right words as you said it. Thanks :D

There are actually plenty of structures like the Twins. Google Ashford Castle Bridge for example :)

Ashford Castle Bridge is not quite like The Twins since it's basically just a normal castle with 2 very small towers at the front of the bridge. These towers were probably mostly useless, you'd have to be insane to volunteer to man them.

The Twins is basically described as an entire castle at each end of the bridge. So I object to them being called the same/similar :)
