Just install Epic Games launcher
Whats the big deal? If i look to my Windows Traybar, i have:
Steam, Itch io, Origin, Dauntless, LoL Launcher, Windows Store/XBall app, Battle net, Bethesda, UPlay, GOG, Curse/Twitch, Vivepad.

So, adding a new launcher is not a big deal. Idk why peoples are upset about installing epic games store.

No idea. I thought people would be more willing to give the developers the hard earned cash that they deserve for developing the game, instead of the 30% that Steam wants for each sale.

The problem is if only one shop is selling a thing then they can charge what ever they want.
Store exclusive is gaming cancer and if this is the future of buying games then we are all fked

It's not about Metro or Deep silver. It's about corporate greed and we need to put a stop to it NOW!!!!!

The same reason I don't have most of the ones you listed, I don't want them. I don't download programs I don't want or won't use.

Cause Epic are shady as ♥♥♥♥.

PC has typically been an open market for 3rd party publishers and developers. While I agree Steam should probably be more competitive with their rates, I don't think that making it exclusive to one store is good for us as a consumer. I like to have choice and PC marketplaces have always been about that. Now that everyone is getting their own store and launcher it just makes things a lot more divided and frustrating from a user standpoint. Sure its not the end of the world but personally I'd rather just buy all of my games from one marketplace of my liking without these companies making backend deals of "exclusivity".

The salt continues
Some people rather have all their digital purchases in one place. Not to mention, pulling the rug out from under a lot of players by suddenly buying exclusive rights to a game that's coming out in less than a month is a slap in the face.

while yes its annoying atm but its good thing overall and slowly but surely they will all comeback to steam

I guess the many "review bombers" actually do not know what Steam did back in the days. Retail copies of games with a small backcover 2-lines warning about a mandatory installation of some software and internet connection required. Nothing in the front. Later, much later came the Steam logo side by the warning message.
This is how Steam became the no.1

Good ol' times...or maybe not.

You don't seem to realise who gets the cash. The publisher makes that extra 30%, not the devs; the devs get what the publishers give 'em, people don't seem to understand that.

Deep Silver aren't going to give 4A more money for the same job, but they sure as heck are licking their lips over that extra 18%.

true while steam has had a rough startup too, they eventually nutted up or shut up and they nutted up big time.

Epic, for the most part, their main exec. is basically phil phish on steroids. Plus all the ♥♥♥♥ that has happened up to now makes it look bad. SHOULD THEY 180 and become an actual competitor like steam, then maybe just maybe people will start to forgive them.

But the proof is in the pudding and atm it's easier to hate them than try to defend them (theres like a 1 to 10 ratio of epic defenders to steam defenders and it's mostly b/c epic has no forums :). Otherwise the number would be much higher like 1 to 30 ).

Also until they stop putting PC Gamer on their payroll and making them shill out like 10 articles a day about the epic store or metro will i actually see their improvement start.

Steam could only become "no.1" if there was anything else to compare it with, but there wasn't. They saw the gap and filled it up; I don't know many people that dislike using Steam to buy and play games!

i wounder if that 18% extra will make a difference if their sales tank. Then again people have been saying that epic must have given DS a pretty good deal to go over to their store and stop selling it on other stores on PC.

Only time will tell and i'm actually curious to see how well the game is selling or flopping on the epic store after 1 month of sales
