Ask yourself. How often do you read reviews on steam and don't watch game reviews on youtube? How bad is it to install a new launcher? What does your 5 minutes of your hopeless gamer life mean to you? Don't like the game? Don't buy it. I love metro series and books. I'm not following a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trend. MAKE YOUR OWN DECISIONS OF WHAT YOU ENJOY IN LIFE! unless you're just a marionette who follows someones opinion blindly (basically an actual moron).

Your options:

-Get EPIC launcher, enjoy the game which is 10$ cheaper
-Keep complaining about how difficult it is to find game reviews on youtube and how difficult it is to install a new launcher. (This will result in no good for any of us)

YOU'LL GAIN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FROM BOYCOTTING THE GAME. You'll just hurt loyal metro fans who actually love the game...

I'm disrespecting EVERYONE who boycotts the game. I'm glad I got golden edition.

Imagine you were insulted by ONE of your favorite shampoo formula developers. You gonna stop buying their product? That's a dumb move and you're the only one who's losing the product.

It's actually sad, that there are only handful of people who realize actual situation and respond to this post properly. ~95% of you just trash talk and give no actual reason why you plan on boycotting the game, from what I read (over 200 comments) you just blindly follow the herd and copy-paste every bad aspect about EPIC launcher that would honestly wouldn't even (probably) touch you in any way. Many of you, who boycott the game don't even care about metro franchise at all! I don't mind the security issues on EPIC, because steam was breached multiple times in past, I don't mind the lack of reviews or bad launcher design in EPIC, but because the games are great too! Yeah, the hassle of installing another launcher really is immeasurable (sarcasm), If you love last metro games and wanna see what else that story has to offer, you wont mind most of these things and will get the game, will support the developers who worked hard on it and you will enjoy the game, because actual gameplay doesn't have anything to do with EPIC launcher.

Thanks to these 5% who shared their opinions with me and explained their perspective on this matter with well written arguments. I accept and analyze well written critique(even tho it may not always impact my opinion).

I'm not boycotting the game, per se (though recent comments by a dev/the devs/the publisher were pretty trash). I have been boycotting Epic Games and their absolutely horrible launcher for awhile now. And that I will continue to boycott, Metro Exodus is a sad and unfortunate addition to the bigger picture for me.

I rather like steam reviews. Youtube reviews are okay, but I can read a couple dozen steam reviews in the time it takes to watch one youtube review, and a lot of youtube reviews ramble and self promote, needlessly drawing out the process. Also, you get a nice ratio right there at the top letting you know if there's a lot of positive or negative reviews, which you don't get at all on youtube. When I see something is overwhelmingly positive, especially with lots of reviews, I tend to feel a lot less anxious about an impulse purchase. When I see something is overwhelmingly negative, it's a pretty good warning sign that the game is broken and/or abandonned, is an asset flip, and also, yes, that the developers might be a bunch of jerks and that I should maybe shop around rather than give my money to them.

You are going to purchse Metro no matter what anyone says. Okay. That's fine. It's your money, spend it how you want. You can buy ten copies if you want, and then pretend that you've put people like me in our place. It'll make you feel like a big shot, and the developers will love you for it.

As for me, I will take the money I was going to spend on Metro, and spend it on another game. I will be entertained with or without Metro. If the developers never make another game on PC, that's fine. I'll still game just as much, just not with Metro games. Also, hard working developers will still get money from me, just not these guys.

People buys EA & ubisoft trash no matter how much drm, accounts, origin, uplay, perma online authentication, launchers, cashgrab tactis, lootboxes and stuff like redshell they put into their games, lets not forget the amount of small studios they bought and killed permanently the same as franchises like command and conquer or dead space, despite all the rage and massive hate towards EA & Ubisoft they still do their sht everytime they can, they are alive, bigger and richer than ever u know why? coz brainless consumers, thats it.

When Exodus announced it would incorporate denuvo DRM and released the official PC specs i saw many on this board saying:

- Im glad exodus is getting denuvo since it protects the critical sales period so piracy wont hurt our beloved devs/publisher if the game sells we can expect better and future metro sequels...

- Hey denuvo haters upgrade your potato, actually they shouldnt be allowed to comment anything or be considered "pc gamers" with such outdated trash...

But now the subject changed quickly right? people all over the internet have raised the black flag and now they gonna pirate the sht out of Metro Exodus. How convenient... so one day we are pro-drm and crusaders against the pirate apocalypse but the next day we are praying for cdx or cpy to release day 1 crack and give Deepsilver/Kosh media and 4A games a big lesson... all coz they switched to Epic games store and cheated on Steam fanboys.

Yea i kno there's much more than that, they didnt even give steam community a deadline, not even 24h to pre-order before leaving this platform.
They kinda took advantage of steam for advertising, promoting the game for several months and then they leave 3 weeks before the official release.
The mod at Exodus board was a naz1 who merged, locked and erased several topics regarding denuvo drm then he banned dozens including myself.
Not everyone can purchase at Epic games store, in some regins the price increased and overall steam is better and convenient compared with epic games.

Its ok to express your discontent regarding DeepSilver/Kosh media actions, but review bombing previous Metro titles who deserved and earned each one of those positive reviews and then threatening to pirate the game everywhere soon as the crack is available or not buying anything from them never again specially not at Epic stores is gonna give ya 1 of two things:

1- you gonna kill metro franchise, for good, if ya'll succeed with this campaing be sure they'll dissapear at least from PC like dev said, if that makes you happy well i agree with the dev, your not a true metro fan. Ea and Ubistrash can take it, they kinda "meh" when people boycott, they are big a** companies, its not the same with 4a, deepsilver or THQ, ye i kno, they are not making things any better but still i dont think they couldnt handle such a big hit from us, not like EA does it all the time.

2- metro gonna sell well enough, like it happens with EA & Ubisoft products, people cries and gets triggered by those companies actions but in the end players gives them moneys and huge amounts helping to perpetuate the microtransaction, cashgrab, drm, season pass dlc infested model with unfinished, half baked buggy games.

good thing bout "piracy" is you gonna give em free advertising, the game will be #1 trending, getting attention at r/gaming plus every major videogames media like ign and kotaku, coz despite what those 12y olds think, its not the bogeyman and pirating the game wont kill it as much as they think, it actually gonna help metro exodus but yeah i know, if they ever return to steam denuvo whiteknights gonna strike again, meanwhile " yarr har fiddle dee dee being a pirate is alright with me".

Why mindless?
We have to support devs for their mind work.
I think the move to EGS isn't so bad, in exchange for this they got money for their new projects.
And is it ok to boycott the game only for store? With the beta gameplays i can say that this game will be great. Yes EGS is uncomfortable, but the store isn't adding you fps, it's just launcher to start the game.
