"In 2017, 21 April, Tencent announced the rebranding of its Chinese 'Tencent game platform' as WeGame,[178] which was launched in September 2017. Tencent has since announced plans to develop a Hong Kong edition of WeGame that can be used by players outside of China, potentially setting up the platform to compete with Valve Corporation's Steam platform." That annoucement was just last summer.
Evil is the word of the day.

Plus Tencent also has two board seats at Epic Games because of their acquisition.
According to any source that claims ownership of the studio Tencent is considered The Owner.
From Tim Sweeney, himself:

Well, if Tencent don't claim to own Epic, and Tim Sweeney recently said that Tencent doesn't own Epic and that he owns Epic, then I don't know who else could possibly be able to claim that Tencent owns Epic.
If Tencent owned Epic then I'm sure Tim Sweeney wouldn't be allowed to claim that they don't and that he does - and if he did claim that despite Tencent owning Epic, then I expect that Tencent might fire him for misrepresenting the company and his authority in it.
I'm against the anti-competitive actions Tim Sweeney is doing by paying for exclusives. But, he, not Tencent, owns the controlling share of Epic - which is why he is responsible for Epic's bad anti-competitive practices.
If you believe anything that moron says in defense of Tencent then your IQ is the same number as the future sales of this game between now and 2020 on Steam.
