Ship Rex Golden Cogs are Bugged

Went through Ship Rex and got 9/10 Cogs by the end. Double-checking with a walkthrough video, I went and checked every spot for the last Cog but all spots were cleared. I exited the level and re-entered it just to see if I could get the last one to spawn. And sure enough, the one between the two stalagmites above the first gate that you open was there, despite me having grabbed it before. I think the issue stems from the Golden Cog Counter not ticking up when you grab one of the cogs, as I know for a fact that I grabbed this Cog on my first time through Ship Rex.

For those having issues with being unable to find a Cog (at least in Ship Rex), try leaving the level and entering it again. Any Cogs you already got will be replaced by a picnic basket.

We haven't been able to repro this, sorry! We'll keep looking, but haven't seen a cog not spawn or not mark as collected yet.

Thanks, Nightryderace! I had the same thing happen. The one in between the stalagmites was the last one I checked before exiting the level. Re-entered the level and there it was. Your post saved me a lot of time.

I had the problem today, I'm showing 9/10 cogs. I'v reloaded the level a few times and went to all 10 spots collecting either a life or a basket at each. D=

Hey, I know this post is a couple years old now but I just recently bought the game as part of this year's Autumn Sale and I have actually come across the same problem... and not the same cog mentioned in the link by Debo.

The cog I'm looking for is located in a small rock pool located above the first gate you go through after you learn how to swim from Rex. I know that whenever you revisit a level, any cogs you already found are replaced with picnic baskets. However, whenever I went to the rock pool, there is absolutely nothing.

I've tried re-entering the level multiple times and it's never shown up. I hope someone could find a way around this as it's real frustrating for me since I'm now stuck at 99% complete due to missing just this one cog!

Hey mate,

We've gone through this with a lot of people to make sure there's not a problem, and have not ever found there to be an issue with the cog spawning, just that a heap of the rock pools look really, really similar.
Can you please check out this guide, and re-check the positions, and let me know?

I had come across this exact video before and it was the second cog in the video that I was talking about specifically.

It was definitely not there when I originally made my comment. However, after I had quit the game and started it up again just today, I revisted the level and the cog was fortunately in the rock pool as it should have been. So, as it was, it seemed that it was just a matter of restarting the game.

I found a solution to the glitched cog. I was also missing the 2nd cog featured in this video, and while messing around with some cheat codes, I activated the code to reveal all items, and it suddenly spawned in for me. Hope this helps, cheers.
