Additional Sound Suggestions
Hey all,

So - we were limited by memory in the originals, so there's probably a few places where there aren't sounds, where there should be.
Suggestions on what <events> that are missing sounds that you think would add to the game, would be welcome.

Can you give any examples of things missing sounds? I haven't gotten far but I haven't seen any missing sounds yet.

If by events you mean the missions or whatever, then I think I found some missing sounds.

There was this nice little sound whenever you progressed towards finishing a certain mission. It sounded like a record scratching or something. It played on missions such as "Rang the Frills" in Two Up, "Emu roundup" and "Fire fight" in Outback Safari.

There also was a sound too each time you collected one of Aurora's kids, Sheila's children, restarted one of the pilot flames for Dennis' hot water, or defeated a frill in a boat in Rex Marks the Spot.

Maybe it was just my computer being weird, but in the cutscene where Ty hops onto Boss Cass's mech, there's no audio coming from the mech. Like, the mech is walking and it should clearly be making some sort of metallic stomping noise, but there's just silence. You can hear Ty's footsteps loud and clear, however.

A sound confirming the boomerangs hit enemies underwater would be nice. Since the death animation of the diver frills are so slow i went through most of the game thinking i couldn't defeat them.

Also, here are some more I noticed in my playthrough:

- When defeating Crikey, he leaps over Ty before leaving the area. Could be good with some splashing sounds when he leaps, or whooshing when he flies over Ty’s head.

- The cutscene in Rex Marks The Spot where Rex and Ellie shows Ty into the octopus cave, and the minigame there could do with some more sounds.

- In the cutscene at the very end of Cass’s Crest where Ty and Sly duke it out on the bridge there are very little sounds in general, and it makes it feel slightly empty.

- The scene where Ty leaps on top of Cass’ giant robot could do with some machine sounds , as the only sound effect in that scene is from Ty’s footsteps.
It might not really be what you've got in mind for this topic, but since it's sound-related - Bull's growling and grunting during the boss fight are really harsh sounding. I might be the only person who has an issue with this, as I do have very sensitive hearing in the first place, but would it be too much to request the effect being toned down slightly? ^^; I'm afraid I don't know how to describe it other than just "harsh", though, I apologize if that doesn't help.
in snow worries, theres these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on snowboards that knock you down if you get close to them, in the original game they snickered afterwards, but its not in the PC release.

It might be not really that relevant but when you walk on grass its always the same footsteps that are playing. Ship Rex is one example, when you walk up the big mountain up to Ellie.
Big relevant as KyuuGryphon mentioned, is Bulls screams... they are terrifying and really really loud. Even I got scared :D

I have noticed that many voices from the Charackters are still in English with German language enabled. For an example in snow worries the koalas calling for help in english and speaking in german. In my PS2 version of TY everything is in German.

  • In the original game (at least on the PS2 version), TY would "Ahh" instead of "Sweet" when respawning, but I haven't once heard an "Ahh" in this version.
  • In Ship Rex, the seahorse would say "Follow me" when leading you to the spike, but that line is missing in this version. (This one actually isn't an issue for me, as I always found her voice a bit annoying.)
  • I already mentioned this on another thread, but I just thought I'd bring it up here too. In the snowy levels, when some of the koala kids call out to you, they have a different voice when they thank you for rescuing them.

When Ty gets swallowed by one of the bigger fish (in Ship Rex), there's aren't any noises coming from either the fish or Ty. Seems somewhat odd without any noise.

Sorry for the delay in reply. <THIS> is the kind of thing I was after.
Note that the next build has a <BUNCH> of sound fixes, for sounds that were in the original but missing in the Steam version (a lot of cutscene sounds - like footsteps for the robot etc)

Since the new update, the overall sound quality is a bit worser than before.
Before the update the sound was very clear, now it sounds very dulled.
