16:10 Support?
I was wondering if it would be possible for the game to completely fill in the screen at a 16:10 aspect ratio. The black bars on the bottom and top of the screen just kind of bother me...

It's nothing game breaking or anything like that, but I'd thought that it would be nice if a new patch would fix this. (That being said, I'm not tech-savvy so there may a reason why this can't be done).

Please understand that I'm not trying to sound whiny or obnoxious, I truly appreciate the work that Krome Studios has put into this port and the updates thus far have been amazing. It's just something that I wanted to mention just in case someone else hasn't already asked it.

Hey mate - the game is letterboxed/pillarboxed into a 16:9 aspect ratio deliberately, due to legacy and budgetary reasons. Cheers

I’m raising the dead with this message but for anyone else looking, here is a link to instructions to enable 16:10 or ultra wide support. It requires making a small hex edit to TY.exe. Works perfect on my Steam Deck: https://www.wsgf.org/dr/ty-tasmanian-tiger/en/

You can play the game in different resolutions. It's just a matter of editing the game files. Like in Alice Madness returns. You edit a text file. Look for the resolution junk. Edit it to your resolutions, fps, and so on.

But, yeah if you decompile the type. Cpk file (i think that's what the game uses) to find the engine assets

Than, rebuild the .cpk file. You can run krone games in whatever resolution you want. I know .//hack g.u. and some other games used a similar file compression method.

Honestly, you might have a easier time adjusting the resolution with dolphin. Than using reshade to get similar unity looking effects.

Hey all - you will see issues in the in-game cutscenes doing this, with characters standing at edge of shot (outside of the 16:9 frame) when they aren't meant to be able to be viewed. Back in the day we positioned things such that it worked for 4:3 and 16:9 framing only. We're just lucky you can't also see the cameraman and boom operator! :)
