Another thing I can think of is some small situations in the game that force the camera to change perspective can make navigating very difficult. Such as in ship rex when you jump on the beach chairs the camera will quickly force itself into a top down view, and when you land it does this weird spin motion.
Other than that the FOV could be the issue. I remember you guys saying something about not being able to change it, but I remember a small FOV being a big issue in other games like Bioshock where players would complain about feeling very nauseous after a short period of time. I personally didn't have this problem with Ty, but I did with Bioshock. the first person perspective could have made this worse because in a first person game the camera will move a lot more, and at many different angles to imitate the eyes of the player. This problem might still exist for some players in Ty who have a lower tolerance.
It's kind of like putting your hands next to the outer sides of your eyes to force your view into a box shape as apprised to a wide rectangle that our eyes naturally have. It's just really uncomfortable to walk around, and navigate this way.
On console back in the day this problem most likely didn't exist due to televisions being much further away from the players eyes than a PC monitor.
I can't replicate that with either joystick or keyboard and mouse at the moment (the spin when you land - the "view from the top" cam override does occur).
TY will run when pressing "W" (default binding) unless you hold down the shift key (default binding) to set to sneak.
If with controller - have you checked what the deadzone is on your controller, as it is using the amount of input to control whether TY runs -> jogs -> walks -> sneaks.
I checked the camera controls to see if I could disable this camera locking, just in case this was already a fixed problem, but I didn't notice anything to do so.
