How on earth do you master Mirai?

Ive played this for a good while and most of the characters ive been able to learn pretty easily, but i cant for the life of me play as Mirai.

Is there a secret to her that im missing? I'm finding that her light/heavy do little to no damage, and her special attacks almost always miss, then when they do hit, they do very little damage.

I already leveled her to 28 and leveled her flash/yin/yang abilities a fair bit, but she still plays like complete ♥♥♥♥ >< Why is every other character so much easier to play as except her? I get A's and B's with every other character, but always D's with her, what am I doing wrong?

I know. She's terrible. Never really got used to the backdash either. Generally, when I want to dash in the opposite direction of the enemy, I have no problem with pushing away from the enemy and hitting the dash button.

I Hate her,and in the 3DS she is worse.

Mirai best at a long distance and crowd control. What you need to do is use her combo branches because that's where her most effective attacks are. As for her Ninja arts, remember that Valkyrie can be aimed during the attack. Also locking on is kind of necessary for her.

Range. Range. And more ranged.

If there was a 2D Street-Fighter-esque version of Senran Kagura, Mirai would obviously be a zoning character.

I read that in SK2 she is good and okay in Burst, but I have to play to see

Well in Deep Crimson she can fight at both long range and close range.... and she was given a grenade launcher.

Unlike most characters where you charge ahead..with Mirai...do the opposite and mash her moveset. She absolitely destroys folks at range
