SENRAN KAGURA SHINOVI VERSUS

SENRAN KAGURA SHINOVI VERSUS

Which parts are canon?
Its pretty apparent from what I gather that there are inconsistencies between the three core stories, and I assume also crimson squad, but what parts are the real story which arent?

That's tough to say. One could assume that the Hanzo line is the true, "good" ending. Gessen has a bit of an alternative ending that still works the same moving forward. Crimson Squad completely contradicts the story in Deep Crimson, but other than that, moves forward as well as Hanzo. Hebijo is the only real oddball that can't be the main story. What makes it confusing is that some of the individual character subplots still carry over into the sequels.

I'm assuming this means just because I, the player, win the watch against the computer it doesnt mean that the character won it canon? So far I like gessen's story a little better tbh.

:pbbg_itsuki:Many people think that the true ending is the Gessen Story or the Crimson Squad Story. But I'm not really sure (obviously Hebijo doesn't count).

I think the endings just might be a mixed bag, you’ll have to piece together which endings are canon By playing the sequels.

From what I understood, yeah, you have to piece everything together. I also read the canon story is in the 3DS games for the moment, so in Burst and Deep Crimson, but parts of SV, EV and PBS are canon, and they share the same alternative timeline.
Fortunately though, it doesn't seem to be Guilty Gear XX levels of "Is this canon?" x)

you're thinking about this wrong

each story is basically "true" to some extent but at a set point it goes into what dynasty warrior would call the "miracle road" where everything goes well and its just rainbows blasting out of everyone's ass

they are all true right up to a certain point where the girls winning/losing would have huge consequences

basically every fight in this game is meant to end in a stalemate where neither side wins and you winning thoses fight shows you what would happen if they were to never lose

I think the story heading into EV is Gessen's but Miyabi's Hebijo still attack the Hanzo school after the recovery bath and sushi, Homura has her talk with grandpa Hanzo, And Miyabi's Hebijo still explode into revenge and infighting. So in EV the Hanzo gang and Gessen are friends, Kurokage is dead, Homura and the Crimson Squad are ambitious, and Miyabi starts EV somewhat depressed from her failures but surrounded by honest friends.
