Games like Elex?

What Non Piranha Bytes games like Elex do you know?
Open world, factions, quests,
Maybe even futuristic or post apocalyptic?
Similar vibe?

I know there are websites of "games similar too", but they always give the same AAA titles we all know.

I bought "Outcast - a new beginning" recently, as it seems a bit similar, but haven't played it yet.

The closest non PB game that really reminded me gothic 2 (PB game) was Two Worlds 2.

As with Elex, I liked Two Words 1 more than it's sequel.
Sure the magic of TW2 was better, but you could become OP very fast and somehow the vibe of TW1 was better for me.

But Gothic and Two Words are in the old area, I was looking something futuristic or post apocalyptic, open word with good story.

Its hard to find these type of games in Future settings or post apoc. Tons of fantasy/old world ones. Have you played Mad Max? Its more action then RPG but its a hidden gem for sure.

I totally forgot about "Spiders" games. Mars Logs and Technomancer. They are totally PB jank style but can be fun. If you liked Elex you may enjoy those. Technomancer is better IMO, bigger world also but Mars Logs is ok as long as you dont mind the jank lol.

I have played "Mad Max" hidden gem indeed, but more action oriented and less story.
Also finished Mars Logs,
May play Technomancer too one day, it just has issues with modern hardware for some reason, and the "fix" could harm my computer. (my computer hanged right after I quit the game when starting with the "fix", but at least the game run)

I've had some Gothic moments in Outward for sure - yet it's only a very small developer studio, is based on Unity engine and is not as complex/massive/evolved as e.g. the two ELEX games.

While Outward is a beautiful game, it's too punishing for me.
You can't save mid game\fight and reload - and if you "die", you are going back to the village without a town portal or any quick way to get back to action.

Yeah, the requirement to consider each step carefully is high. Afterall, it features zones with vastly different climate, diseases, starvation - but preparing well and fleeing from enemies is possible. Dropping the backpack while fighting can be highly recommended.

Chernobylite 2 Exclusion Zone is pretty much copying the entire Elex gameplay, mechanic, level design and much more. The only diference it might offer better immersion and 1st and 3rd person transition.

While I am also want Chernobylite 2 to be good and similar to Elex, but:
It doesn't have jetpack
The setting is very different
And we don't really know about how similar it would be to Elex because it wasn't released yet.
However I do want it to be good.

There is a kickstarter campaign (which is already successful) for Chernobylite 2 (google it up).

I suppose you know Fallout series? Elex is strongly inspired so to say by F3, FNV and F4. Also if you liked the survival aspect, there is a pretty specific and somehow odd game Empyrion, futuristic, survival, enough combat and a lot of building if that is your cup of tea.

Another futuristic but not post apocalyptic game is The Outer Worlds, if you happen to be a fan of Firefly like me you will enjoy several nods to the series in this game. The game is bordering to a comedy, black jokes, not very positive tuned, strong anti corporation and possibly anti capitalistic bias so not exactly politics free but still good. Not as DEI heavy as other games (like Cyberpunk 2077) but to some extent yes.
