Elex Soundtrack

How do you guys think the soundtrack compares to other PB games? Personally it doesn't come close to Gothic 3, which had my favorite OST of all time.

Well, Gothic 3 had for sure the best OST of the PB game, when it comes to music on it's own but....it felt too detached from the game; I prefer in G1/2 and Elex, how music is...much more subtle. It's almost as if it isn't there. Which i think is really good thing.

The Gothic 3 soundtrack sucked big time. It was okay for listening once or twice, but not the whole time through!!

mesal, that was my point, it was too epic for me. I loved listneting to it outside of game, but, walking around the boring little grass, and epic music playing in the background, felt a little weird over time.

Well, don't get me wrong, i still liked OST, i just prefer more subtle music from G1/2: With such imeersive games, i feel like more subtle music is better.

It's like watching modern Roman movie, with all the Two steps from hell music, and then watching some old..i dunno, 50s roman movie, without any epic music like that. Just feels more....real. To me, anyway.

It's there but no more.
Indeed not bad for a lead designer and amateur musician but I miss a memorable theme.

I have to keep it turned down in order to hear voice. But as far as I can tell so far, I don't like it as much as any of the other PB games. Gothic 3 is probably my favorite soundtrack.

It does what it needs to for a giant open-world game you can sink hundreds of hours into: nothing too melodic and grandiose, all of it very subtle and pushed to the back. And at over 3 hours long, there's tons of it. But it's nothing I'd ever want to listen to outside the game. Though I kinda like that.

Music is by the lead designer btw, Bjorn Pankratz.

I do wish KaiRo did at least a few tracks though.

there are people that go wild for video game OST, I find it fascinating.
Its usually the first thing I disable but when I hear people bring up soundtracks of video games from years gone by...the mind races

So far ELEX's music has been, no pun intended, muted. It hasn't evoked anything from me. Risen's OST was the best IMHO. Gothic 3's songs were nice, but looped too frequently and generally didn't match what was going on. Running through a field or picking flowers doesn't need an epic score.

Since Elex is the first PB I play regularly and seriously, I have no idea how is the music of other PB IPs such as Gothic or Risen, but I'm finding Elex's music pretty enjoyable and adequate.

Are you talking about that garbage on the radios?
Because, just like with Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Fallout 4, I've made it my mission to find all the radios in the world and shut them off.
I hate any type of music in my games.

I love the music in the Cat house, besides that most of the music I find is meh. The game rocks but honestly I dont think much of the music.
The Gothic 3 music still trumps it hard.
