but it started out all promising on first reunion when you scour sewage canals for her stuff :) funny how she changes afterwards.
I haven't played Witcher (and the crowd goes whaaaaaat) but that sounds really sad. Bioware did some nice female characters (but also weak one). I didn't expect Mass Effect/Dragon Age depth for companions in Elex and I also don't need it (same goes for romances) but honestly I would've rather had that old, violent, crazy dog-lady with me than Nasty and Caja together. For example. Like what's so hard in making - let's say - Arx a woman but with all the same Arx-iness?
That's a sad truth though. I'm a woman myself and I rather write male characters. It also comes easier to me.
No way Caja is a crazy dog, that's huge to says that.
Else I switch the companions regularly. Falk or Nasty for fighting missions is okay. Crony U4's light when exploring dark buildings/caves is fun.
Playing a cold "synthetic" cleric recently, I've chosen to turn against Duras, which involves killing him. There's a similar option with Arx.
Agreed. He generally just stands there
All other companions are in player faction, so anything that will attack player will be identified as enemy and then attacked if not too far.
I thought have identified another unique companion, Nasty, if she fall when she wake up she waits here. But I think it's triggered by some of her quests or if you give her the order to stay her. But now I doubt she is different than others.
For me, beside Ray, differences are variable and related to:
- The closest range where the companion uses long range attack.
- How fast a companion that fall recover. It's probably dependent of how big was last hit received, but now I feel it's more than that.
- The weapons used, that vary somehow for some companion.
- Overall for close range 2H weapons are disfavored in hands of a companion. Moreover all 2H have a bug beside 2H swords and companions are certainly hit by this bug.
And Im' suspecting more and more that some variations are coming from how much the companion like you.
Do you all know a strong reaver in the river near berserks' city?
During my 1st game I encountered him with Duras 3 times. First was on low lvl (~10), it was hopeless. Second it was somewhere 10~20, it was long long fight, but still I was not able to win. Third time was ~20 when I already had my tier 1 or 2 axe and during that time I finally beat him.
Now I run my 2nd game and I being lvl 8 brought Ray here. With his common sword (not saw) he really torn this reaver in few hits and only took one stun from which he came back instantly.
I KNOW, RIGHT, LOL! Ray just stand around chilling while you are fighting for your life, lol. I used him earlier in in my early teen levels, and he sucked, so I pretty much skipped him for much of gaming thus far. I like Arx, but we don't see things eye-2-eye, and I don't want to alienate him, so I'm selective about where I take him for a fight.
I just duo-flamethrower everything that would normally kill me or my companion in an instant with Falk :D Might take a while and sometimes I switch to a different rangeweapon to make it faster, but when the creep comes out of the stunlock, party starts.
As for Ray I feel the same like the others here, he just chills when I fight for my life and likes to join after me or the enemy is close to dead. The worst: he doesn't like to grab his range-weapon :(
Like in her quest? I was like "yeaaah... okay... run into it, die and leave me alone with this thing wtf"
At some point I feel Ray is really stronger, but as you progress, it's not anymore true.
Lol, at replay I managed it fine, but you can leave her and pick another companion and come back, this could help achieve sooner her quests.
Btw I know that Falk can get you more money out of quests and read that Nasty can do too, can other companions do that too?
Oh and I figured CRONY gives you free Elex even when he's not with you. You just have to check on him in camp.
