ELEX
Ps4 player, beat the game, here's some tips
Beat the game last night, lvl 48, hour 45.
The wiki and info on this game is barren, so here's some useful info.

Do not use small elix potions for exp, craft them into normal potions. Do not craft large elix potions till chapter 4. Stats become harder to level and you need all the points you can get.
Stats 32-61 take 2 points to level up, stats 62 and up take 5!

New game blues? Follow the main road north to the domed city, you'll pass an Alb companion named Arx who fights at a level 15 average, now go back and do w/e.

The personality skills that add ranks to other skills add 10 ranks! [Wtb tooltip please] so those ridiculous 10/20 rank checks super early in the game, can be done.

Push your Animal Trophies as soon as it becomes available. Rank 3 lets you harvest cyclops eyes, troll hearts, stalker ears, and Natural Elex. Natural Elex from mutants and robots drop in droves at rank 3, and unless you're crafting ammo, all those beaks, claws, hoses and horns sell for 5-25 each.

Getting 1 rank in haggle lets you exploit infinite cash. Metal and electronic scrap buys and sells for 10 each. Haggle lets you buy back for 9 or even 8. Sell for 10, buy back for 9. Combined with Animal Trophies and you are selling stacks of 2-3 k at a time. Thats 2 to 6k profit every 15 seconds.

Most legendary weapons are garbage and the stats dont justify the requirements. If the base damage doesnt read as 95 or higher, its vendor garbage.

If in chapter 1 DO NOT talk to the renegase alb faction before settling Origin. The game assumes you setteled and some♥♥♥♥♥♥is going to happen but the town will have NO DEFENSES, certain critical npc WILL die.

Fresh character? First 2 levels pump con to 30! First 2 skills should be Extra Stamina and the food buff. Extra Hitpoints IS BUGGED. Also there are 3 early rank2 Survival speech checks.

*edits, removed extra hp, confirmed bugged*

I agree with almost everything in this post accept for

Taking extra hit points. Extra hit points gives you a FLAT 10 hp and you don't get more each level. Whether that is a glitch or intended, it makes that skill a complete waste IMO.

I also question whether legendaries are worth it in the end. I am not experienced enough to disagree with that statement though as my best weapon that I can currently wield is a mace.

Thanks for the tips. That one about +10 to skill for passing checks was new to me. One of the frustrating things is that feeling you've missed an opportunity.

They've got one major downside to them - not upgradeable. Meaning they will get obsolete middle-to-late game when you'are able to get weapon II or even weapon III with better damage values.

And sheer damage is better than anything else in this game. I recall wasting 500 bullets to kill a cyclops with shotgun II. Needed only 10 only I upgraded to shotgun III though.
I have collected more legendaries then I found on any guide. When you compare the stats of a third upgraded rifle or melee weapon they general require 78 in one stat snd mid 60 in another. A tier 3 pulse rifle does 95 dmg and has this stats for dex/int. The legendary equivalent does 10p dmg and requires a str of 83 instead int 66.

A tier 3 two handed mace does about 105 damage and requires similar stats, a tier 3 shotgun does 95. The legendaries that ARE worth it do more dmg. But you will see legendaries that require ridiculous stats and give a measly 45 or 50 dmg.

Legendaries that give subpar damage in respect to their craftable counterparts are vendor garbage. Woukd you rather have a 1 hansed sword that requires 43dex/int and does 52 dmg, or a legendary that requires 42str 68dex. Recall after stat 61 all increases are 5 points each so thats 4 levels to get dex from 61 to 68
I assumed that the hit point stats were cumulative with every level you gained. If it's only a one-off then it is not worth, get the food buff
