Companions
I saw someone in a "bash the hater" thread say the game doesn't autolevel companions. Is he talking out his ass or is there something about companions I missed? My quick tips are messed up, they pop-up while I am busy and vanish after what seems like a half second, so I am concerned I might have really missed something.

Ok, can you elaborate? They don't autolevel, is a companion only good for so many levels, or do I need to level them... I feel I am not understanding what is meant by autolevel companions.

They are only good to a certain point. They do not autolevel up with you.

You can however unlock skills to improve their capability in fights.

There is a skill "Group", which makes your companions a lot stronger. Its worth getting it.

So after a certain point the game is designed to be played with the help of companions? Or is each one only useful to a certain level? I am only level 12 but they seem to be done faster than a nerd's first time. I can not count on them to tank one min or dps for ♥♥♥♥♥ while I tank 2 mobs.

At what points are they useful?

Wow, I never knew that. But I guess I can see that now. Falk is starting to get more useless these days.

Is there a list of companions and their default levels?

No list. The game is very good at hiding any statistical information.

How about insights from experienced players?

I think people who've played the game for a long time would've known the differences between the companions.

I know their level doesn't match the level of their personal quest. Hell the little Droid would have me enter an alp base with a mech.

Duras - Tanky and responds to threat without initiating a fight
Arx - A regular Joe that wields a mace with laser rifles
Falk - Weak sauce
Nasty - No idea
C.R.O.N.Y. U4 - Good DOT damage but not tanky
Caja - Good DOT damage but is like a paper
Ray - Watches you die in agony and pretends nothing happend

I noticed in many fights with Falk hes constantly shooting the floor or walls if we stand on a elevation i hate it when he just constanty stands near me either doin nothing or shooting floots that much about companion AI he does not even recognise a non penetratable wall or ground tile . Interresting is that you can have even a enemy companion in every city if you like without consequences or comments this was a bit baffling for me at least if it is WAR times.

Does that mean that the regular Joe is the best Pick ? im struggling about the usefulness of Falk while hes lookin cool he is not really a help aside from the flesh he represents to monsters lol. i need a tank if im flamer or using Cleric weapons not a clown that blocks my sight .

comps seem to have 2 diff modes, i was out with caja running for a teleport to unlock and kept getting surounded by these many weak mole mobs, if i started fighting she was cleaned up pretty quick, i ran away to try and get to a building to get up off the ground and she was engaged without me and i saw the xp comming in every few seconds and the red dots 5-6 of them where dissapearing quick.

so yea id say from then PB seem to have 2 sets of AI for comps asist and def asist is weak as your doing it togehter but def and they take-do more dmg than i was at low lvls.

but since it doesnt matter if your comp goes down its only you that matters i then used that to my advantage, but PB have allways had bad scripting and AI codeing.

EDIT: btw where do you find nasty and arx only 2 i havent come across ?
