"Attack strength" ability?

I tested it and it didn't have any effect on how much I deal damage. Does anyone what it actually does?

Did you try with power attack?

No just with the normal attack with sword. There is another ability called "Heavy Punch" which is supposed to increase the power attack

need an answer for this as well. "each new level increases damage of your hits" what are "hits"?

i think it increase your atacks stagger, just like the parry strenght increase your "poise"

Maybe you just didn't notice the difference, first level gives 10%, second - 20%.

Attack strength allows you to attack an opponents stamina. Well this is what one forum said. Heavy punch increased the damage of your special moves.

thats melee weapons not attack strength....necroing this thread because im curious whats up with this "atack strength" skill, how is it different from the melee weapons skill that gives the 10% per level

that would make sense but not sure its the case, spending time trying to figure this out when the info should be clear from in-game, guess with later patches.

It affect how reliably you can stagger your target.

The more Attackstrength the easyer you can Stagger an Enemy.
Attacking a Troll without any and he will not notice that you hit him even if you deal some damage.
Attacking him with all Skilld and buff food and he is nearly permastun / stagger.

I know the Skill 2 Points , Buff food Steak, and 1 Necklace with Attackstrength.

Where did you find "attack Power"?

Ring of Combat at Cleric HQ's Armor Master. Don't take the stats too seriously, some are just bogus e.g. crossbow actually has better range than bow, flamethrower does a lot more damage than what's stated
